Not sure.
It is much sour. I have to mix a bit of sugar to balance it out and that works well. Just add a little sugar and water and mix it well to add to dishes, noodles etc.

Great taste. Probably a tad sweet for the Indian palate.
Classical black bean sauce flavor. For the Indian palate, it might taste a tad sweet. So, adjust for hot and sour flavors accordingly.

NOT WORTH BUYING.
This sauce claims to be a Korean spicy black bean sauce but in reality it doesn't fulfil any of those terms used in its name. For starters it's not spicy at all. I don't know why I was expecting a nuclear sauce level spicy but it got me more disappointed. It has a strong flavour of garlic and soy sauce which is not expected from a black bean sauce. It should have fermented black bean paste and hence should have some umami in its taste. But unfortunately if you check the ingredient list fermented black bean paste is no where to be seen. Black bean sauce looks really dark but this sauce is brown. The sauce should not be called a black bean sauce. Very very disappointed by this purchase.

A must for those who love Chinese dishes
I wanted a black bean sauce after eating some fantastic black bean sauce based dishes in Hong Kong. And the dishes I created were good and polished off with great relish by my husband. So will be ordering again.
