I have found this very flexible, adaptable and effectively useful. It was a little tricky to get the pole to slip all the way into its socket on the base, but once I did, it became secure and steady. The base is heavy enough to keep the magnifier portion and arms stable in almost any position. I make jewelry, and do a lot of the work in my lap. I am still recovering from eye surgery. I put this toward the edge of my worktable and I can swing it into place over the side of the table almost anywhere I need it to be. The light really helps with visibility too. Don't know yet about durability issues, or how long the light will last. So far, it's been a really helpful aid.

I used a regular magnifying glass under the desk lamp to see the small print on the claims I process. This devise is amazingly convenient and the large base really makes it solid and comfortable. I no longer need a light and do not have to hold the magnifying glass which is priceless! Thank you and I sincerely recommend to anyone who uses any magnifying devices.

Even now that I got bifocal contacts, I’m struggling to maintain focus looking at the small details when working at my desk on craft projects. Weeding the single-color vinyl on cuts from my Circuit machine was getting almost impossible so I picked this d up and it’s helped immensely, especially that I got one with a light. I also like that it plugs in vs gobbles up batteries.

Bought this for my 86 year old Dad. who deemed this item as "the best gift that he could have received" considering that he has trouble with smaller print. He even started to re-examine his coin collection, because now he can see much better. talks about it "ALL THE TIME" Helps him with his paper mail as well.

The part that holds the magnifying glass is a pain you can unattach it but of course it has a cord that's threaded through the steel arms so basically the magnifying piece will just hang there but the part that you have to insert it into does not cooperate very easily you have to line it up right hopefully one side doesn't fall off and then you have to tighten it which it doesn't tighten very well so what I did was squeeze or basically Bend the two pieces inward so that it would hold so as long as you don't move it, it will stand for place but since I do move it, it still moves around. I remember in school the ones that they had there were just fine possibly if they can make it that way it will work but as far as the little metal grippy thingy that holds the magnifying glass part that's going to be a no-go. I would say for people who would buy it it's 50/50 chance that it will work for you
