Double Wall Insulated Borosilicate Glass Mugs with Bamboo lid, Set of 2… (16 ounce)

These 16 oz Fancyware Double Wall glasses are great for keeping my morning coffee hot for about an hour. They don't function like a thermos and I don't believe that is the intent here, so don't expect your beverage to stay hot all day. After about an hour your hot beverage will be still be warm but not quite lukewarm; and definitely not cold like it would be in a regular, non-insulated open mug.I tested this with 12 oz straight hot water and kept the lid on the whole time except to take the temperature. The glass was kept on a cold tile countertop:9:48 am: 185 deg F10:18 am: 148.5 deg F10:48 am: 126.2 deg FThey perform well as expected. I also have 12 oz Bodum brand Pavina glasses and another random brand in the same style except they do not have lids. Bodum also states that they are borosilicate glass. In my rush to order I forgot to check that these Fancyware 16 oz glasses were also borosilicate. My test with 185 degree F water proves that they are relatively resistant to thermal shock. They feel exactly the same as my other two glasses too and appear to be the same thickness. so I'm guessing they have the same properties as borosilicate glass.Other features:- they are not leakproof. I turned one glass upside down full of water and there was a little dripping. I didn't expect them to be leakpoof but was happy that the lid stayed on- the silicone seal is removable from the lid which is good for cleaning and preventing bacteria or mold- they don't come presented as a set of two, but come individually plain boxed and foam sheet wrapped. This may matter to some if you are planning on gifting- there is a very subtle inherent wood scent to the bamboo; it's not a chemical scent but natural. I didn't notice any transfer to my coffee but it might with more delicately flavored teas- big Fancyware logo on the lid. I wish this came blank but it's not a big deal- they are relatively strong for the thickness of glass but I still recommend treating them with care. I don't presume that they are break proof or shatter resistant; I've broken a Bodum just from careless treatment in the sink and I expect these to be the same. It really didn't take much so hand wash and treat them like they're precious- they are relatively insulating but not vacuumed like a Thermos. There is still temperature loss but it is significantly slower than a regular glass or mug. Also I made the mistake of putting a similar glass of my other brand in the dishwasher and it indeed can become waterlogged between the layers of glass. Even though they aren't vacuum sealed I still wouldn't risk microwaving. I don't think that hot air could escape quickly enough from between the walls and would break on expansion- they come with a one-year money back guaranteeOverall, these are excellent glasses for the cost and serve the purpose represented. I'm really happy to have this larger size with a lid -- so perfect for my morning cup!

Rather large and kids don’t fit

These are nice looking moderately insulating - not to the extent I thought they would be, hence the 4-star rating. I'd still recommend them, though.

These glasses are pretty and lightweight. I love that they come with lids, which is specifically why I bought them. You will need to carefully hand wash the glass and the lid to make sure they last a long time (If you leave either in the sink they won’t make it long). My biggest complaint is that the glasses are a bit top heavy with a smaller, rounded edged bottom. I had one on my desk at work and I accidentally lightly bumped it. It went right over, rolled off my desk and shattered into a million tiny pieces. I was sad that happened but luckily I have another. They are also a bit wider in the middle where you’d grip them than I’d like, making them a little awkward for smaller hands for sure. Overall they are beautiful and very lightweight/delicate with the option to use/carry with a lid while transporting or keeping your beverage warm, which is great (I wish all my double walled glasses came with lids)! I recommend these glasses provided you are willing to treat them very carefully and hand washing is not a problem for you. Finally, I had a little issue with something and the sellers got right back to me and actually seemed to fix the problem before they even sent a written response! Thanks for that, guys!

If you pour boiling liquid directly into the cup it will be too hot to touch for a child or sensitive skin for a couple minutes since it doesn’t come with handles.If the glass is too hot to touch it’s definitely too hot to drink.I use it every day for my tea.

The packaging is first class, very neat, secure from breakage and the glass has greater weight on the bottom which prevents tipping. I have double wall glasses from an other company and these are far better. I was also surprised at how rapidly I received them. There are many competitors, but these should be your only choice. As far as I know this is the only company that includes good sealing bamboo lids which prevent the loss of heat which naturally rises. A cold beverage will stay cold up to 8 hours. If you have any problems they will take care of it immediately to your satisfaction.

It is a big enough size for my breakfast coffee in the morning. Easy to wash. Much better to keep warm than regular coffee mug.

This tumbler keeps my drink colder longer, but it is too big around to hold in my hand easily. Also not too fond of the lid. It just sits there, not a snug fit. And I have to take it off to drink.
