Philips HTL3140B/12 2.1 CH Bluetooth Wireless SoundBar Speaker

Bought from Amazon's Cloudtail during recent 10% cashback + 0% EMI scheme with deal unmatched by Croma & Vijay sales (visited them for audition too). This model number is about 3 years old.For net cost of about 13k after cashback, its a steal. I additionally purchased 1year OnsiteGo warranty. There are no other reputed brands available for the price-wattage value.Suggested for a room of max 150 sq feet for this RMS 200 Watt system. The soundbar and the woofer are quite sleek n small for the sound quality and effects it produces.Fidelity is excellent with soft silky treble and low rumbling bass for the price and the 2.1 format but not of professional audiophile quality which can cost many thousands and huge sized multiple hardware units. Mids are bit weak but can be increased from the source audio using equilization. Try spectrum equalizing from your source device plus Bass & Treble with HT Remote unit. You could probably adjust Bass and Treble upto +/- 14db (10db source and 4db from the HT Remote). Sorround Sound effect is decent enough depending on the source recording environment but not even close to a 5.1 or 7.2 HT system for regular stereo signal input.Soundbar has a mid + Mylar tweeter each for L & R channel respectively in the slim soundbar unit. The woofer unit is wireless and is responsive up to low sound of 40 hz, has its own amplifier so needs another power supply. Woofer auto connects to the soundbar through 2.4ghz wifi band so could interefere with your N band home wifi. Try changing the home wifi channel number in your router or install AC wifi router using 5ghz wifi band (though reach is weaker than N band). Try placing the woofer in room's corner for enhanced natural bass resonance.Audio Input onnections available are NFC-bluetooth, Bluetooth, AUX, Optical, HDMI (ARC), 3.3mm stereo socket, Coaxial, USB (WMA upto CBR 192 kbps & MP3 upto CBR 320kbps formats only, no AAC support eg Apple format).As my HD TV is old from first generation LCD (year 2009!) with only, do not have HDMI (ARC) to connect to the soundbar for best digital quality sound. Newer TVs do, so please check before buying your new TV. I only had AUX (flower) connector output from TV so had to settle for it to connect to the soundbar. Some soundbars do not have AUX so be careful before buying sounbars which connect to older LCD TVs.Quality of Dolby DTS sound from Amazon Prime Movies (Set the Fire stick Audio to Dolby Digital Plus Automatic) is best when used with Surround sound effect on the soundbar. It gives a stunning HT 5.1 virtualized sound effect for those movies which have a Dolby Digital Audio track even on AUX input instead on HDMI (ARC) input!Another connection I use is bluetooth (Soundbar is capable of A2DP AVRCP, Bluetooth ver 3 +EDR) from my Samsung A9 Pro (A2DP, AVRCP Bluetooth ver 4) and sound quality fidelity is decent.Remote provides a full range functionslity with Individual buttons controls for input selector, Volume, Treble and bass each (-4 to +4 levels), Pre set Sound Equalization options, Surround Sound, Audio Sync, Dimmer and Night mode. Such remote functionality level is probably unique to Philips at this price point.Latest Firmware version is still at version 35 from 2014.Cons:1) Auto standby function kicks in too soon and the system often enters standby state before you return (manual says 15 minutes)2) Woofer construction material is a half inch fibreboard, the cheapest construction material and prone to water ingress damage. So take care of your woofer during floor wet cleaning or water splashes.🆕Update: 28-10-17Audio Sync issue that existed before is sorted out as the same was due to the TV audio DTS output settings and not the HTL 3140 soundbar. Have reversed the rating to 5🌟 from 4🌟. The AUX audio sound and that from the TV is in 100% sync without echo issue. Same with the close lip sync with the video‼ Many times, audio processing from source can lead to audio sync issues. However, bluetooth input from TV has significant lip sync issue with the video and suspect its to do with the TV source.

I got the product on time thank you amazon but hI reserved a defected product the sub woofer was not connection to the main channel I tryed every thing I called Philips thay came the next day thay told me I will have to send the product back to the repairs center I was not happy so I returned the product through amazon and ordered a replacement .I got it in 6 days now it works fine some tines the woofer does not connect same issue with the Bluetooth so I just do a reset and it worked fine . the sound quality is amazingly grate I loved it and the woofer gives you a different buzz

I have always believed that Philips is the best when it comes to music and sounds and this product only goes to prove that further. It's way better than a sony or an LG and cheaper too. the sound quality is awesome and fills the air with its surround sounds. Only issue is with Amazon who just left the product at home and since then there has been no one to give a demo of how it connects with TV and other devices or how does the Toslink cable work which they recommended I buy along with the sound bar which I o did. Now I am at my wits end trying to figure what goes where!CAN PHILIPS OR AMAZON PLEASE HELP!

First of all I must say that this an average soundbar. If you use HD set top box and have hdmi arc port or optical support you can go for this but if you use SD channels only it's totally a waste of money. You will not find any remarkable improvement in your sound quality. But yes if you have HD STB with Dolby digital it will sound good.You also need to play around with your Hd STB to see if the settings are on for Dolby digital or not.Bluetooth pairing with woofer and soundbar was fussfree and a charm. No issues so far (I also have wifi modem running in my house).All in all it's good if you mostly see hd channels or blue ray movies but for SD I would not recommend it.

Extremely dissapointed with the product. The item when was well packed but when assembled it the wireless woofer had a sound as if there was screw left inside and on the top of it, it did not start at all. The sound bar was normal but without the woofers its just an ordinary unit. Ordered the lower model of same brand whcih was ₹6k cheaper which had a wired woofer sounded fantastic and both the soundbars had the same output. Conclusion was all the magic is in the woofers which if does not work the complete unit is just like a cheap radio. Don know whose fault it was the delivery guy or manufacturing but didnt expect this from Amazon to deliver unchecked item to customers. Full thumps down to Amazon.

No good bass. Does not meet the expectations. Woofer definitely not worth the price. The bar speaker is crazy and amazing.

And I got this a day before the actual delivery date: Well done Amazon!!!You get what you pay for. 2 month I waited for the right time to buy this sound bar. But my impulse took over all my resistance and I finally ordered it through Amazon. Used it for a day, and I am proud of having this product.Pros:- Bluetooth giving me the flexibility to play the music from anywhere- Nice Bass and different sound mode- Easy to install on the wall- Sleek and smart look- On HD channel, you get a really nice soundCons:Not for this product, but I wish all my TV channels were HD.

It is good item and served the intended purpose of enhancing my LG 47 INCH LED TV Volume. Easy to install. It took me less than 30 minutes to install and configure the sound bar and the sub-woofer.However I recommend that the Seller includes - HDMI and OPTICAL AUDIO cable as a package, instead of the customer having to run-around to purchase the same from outside vendors.The sub-woofer power source could have been integrated into that of the soundbar, instead of having to use up an additional power socket for plugging it it. The surround sound is of acceptable quality for this price. Overall a value for money purchase.
