Urdu script typeset size is tiny, hard to read; no audio content accompanied
Content of the book is good. It is comfortable to read the English script whereas the Urdu script typeset size is so tiny that it is hard to read and impossible to distinguish between different vowel sound signs written over/under a letter. Thus forcing the beginners to look for alternate resources to learn the shape of those script-symbols. If this book had a bigger and readable typeset for the Urdu script, it would be a good resource to learn the language. There are instructions to refer to audio, funnily there's no audio content available either in the form of a CD/DVD or a Web link.

Does not include cd.
While the book in itself is really good, it does not come with a cd as mentioned on the display page. I even asked for an exchange as I was assured by Amazon help that I will get the cd this time..but in vain. Language help books make sense only with CDs to practice. Just the book for a person who already knows basic Hindi/ Urdu is not very useful.

Waste of time and money.
Urdu fonts are irritatingly tiny.

recommended!
I am very happy with this book. The approach to learning a new language is a mix of grammar, vocabulary and useful tips about common sayings and culture as well. You will read short texts and vocabulary as well as grammar is explained as you go, which keeps me interested and motivated. The only trouble I have is reading the Urdu script, as it's written in a small font. A larger font would be very helpful, especially for beginners.

Useless without audio
Maybe the book itself is good, but it came without any audio, so it was pretty useless.I

Good intro text
I liked the very clear script and the progressively more difficult exercises. The transliteration was helpful but continued too long.
