This product works for the VIEWSONIC PJD7820HD. Remember this is only the light bulb so you have to take apart the encasing that surrounds around the bulb. You will need small screwdriver and be careful. I recommend you clean the area around your light bulb and the inside of your projector. Use an air can to remove dust. Remember to dust inside -> out - as to get the dust out of the machine. Don't use the can to blow dust inside into the projector. rated 4 because packaging was horrible. The box was half torn and I was scared that the bulb may not work. However, the bulb works fine. Obviously, I won't know if I will get the 2000 hrs usage rate but so far, so good. Vast improvement since my old bulb was basically done. I got over 4500 usage hours so I was really pleased. Buy this bulb if you aren't afraid to take apart the encasing.

I replaced this lamp in my Viewsonic projector with the RLC-079 housing. My original OEM OSRAM bulb had 2900 hours on it and was beginning to look dim. Replaced the bulb with this one, only to suffer from an even dimmer picture. Stick with the OEM bulbs. This one is cheaper (the OEM is around $80 from OSRAM directly) - but the performance is not good at all.
