Nice book with very practical points
I have read so many other books that teaches you how to deal with life. Most of those are around the idea of 'think positive, & the positive will happen'. They suggest you so many steps to follow around similar principles. None of those steps are practical in this harsh world. Neither any of those give any science based proof, citation to any experiment or study, that actually proves that those ideas work. All of them suggest, that person A did X thing and had Y result, so you also will get similar results in your life by taking similar steps. But this is where this book stands different. It actually tells you why the points mentioned work, & when can they not work. Actually, it doesn't give you some 'work for all' tips, it just teaches you to find your own way of living, & learning from life & how to deal with the emotions that sometimes give very hazy picture of reality. The writing style is also very connecting & examples taken are very relatable. Does feel that it is actually written by a reputed Psychologist and not by a shouting, self proclaimed life coach.I highly recommend.

But the best way to use this guide to emotional agility would ...
The book was properly packaged and arrived in a day, as usual. The book is exactly about what title says: how to be emotionally agile by not just using your emotions well but also by being aware of your emotions at all times. Most of the battles are half won if we're aware of why we feel what we feel, and that we don't misdirect those emotions. But the best way to use this guide to emotional agility would be on an everyday basis. Starting with the first chapter, one should think of how to apply the concepts step by step. Trying not to implement all concepts at once is the only way to use this book well. Reading, introspecting and then applying the theories/concepts in bits and parts would be most effective use of the book. The language used is simple and clear which makes it easy to understand for both young and mature readers.

An amazing read for understanding emotions and dealing with them
I came across the concept of Emotional Agility through the following Ted Talk that Susan David had given. It was one the best Ted Talks I had seen and hence I bought the book to give it a read. The book talks about emotions and their importance in life, work, and relationships. It was about embracing change and uncertainty and navigating the ups and downs of life. It made me change the way I look at emotions and deal with them. Emotionally agile people are able to adapt themselves and overcome difficulties while staying true to their values. One of the biggest learning aspects of the book was the way I view happiness and realizing that deliberately striving for it is fundamentally incompatible with the nature of happiness and that showing up and embracing your emotions even if they are negative and approaching them with courage will help us deal with whatever life throws at us.Negative emotions are viewed as something that needs to be avoided at all costs. But Susan discusses the upside of negative emotions and how they can help us excel in our lives. The following line is quoted from the book and I find it really inspiring."Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life"

Thrive and succeed with Emotional Agility
Disentangle your emotions and break free from your rigid default mode. A very good book, which can help everyone in someway to become emotionally mature and respond to day to day challenges optimally by being flexible and thoughtful with our emotions.

A Bible on Emotional Intelligence
Books on Emotional Intelligence like "Emotional Agility" are rare- they are well-researched, contain relatable and teachable stories, some from personal experience, and provide a guide to effectively relate with our emotions and use them to live our values. A thoroughly rewarding read.
