WOW - I only had this book today and it is full of 'I want to make' bags.The variety of techniques covered really appeals to me, I enjoy all sorts of crafts. So this book looks to be ideal for my needs.The projects look to be straight forward enough, especially if you are familiar with knowing how to thread a needle (a good start anyway!) And I'm sure once you get the confidence of following a pattern or two you will be inspired to develop the ideas and create something totally unique.There is a very useful section at the back of the book with lists of equipment and materials, techniques, stitches, pattern templates and a list of suppliers. Many of the suppliers have web sites, so there should be no trouble sourcing materials, or why not live life dangerously and do your own thing and use up your stash, or if you are like me adding to it!!!Finally, I think this book is well worth the money charged for it on Amazon.Now the biggest decision is which bag to make first.

This is an excellent and very inspiring book with a selection of interesting projects ranging from the quick and easy (a few fabric bag projects) to the detailed and exquisite (beautiful canvaswork amulets and purses).The only reason I can't give this book 5 stars is because the threads and beads involved in some of the projects, I have found difficult to source. The experienced needleworker will know of substitutes and where to find them but for those people, like me, who have little time to research alternatives and just like to order materials over the internet or from a local shop, it is a single disappointment from what is a very interesting book.

A bit disappointed. Some of the projects tend to focus more on the embroidery than making the bags themselves. I was interested in making the beaded bag with a frame but there are no dimensions for the frame used that I can find. Not expensive though.
