Van Heusen Men's Wrinkle Free Long Sleeve Button Down Shirt, Slim Fit, Comfortable Stretch Fabric

This is a really nice dress shirt. The material is nice and washes well and does not need ironing if removed from the dryer promptly. I like the gentle navy/green plaid because it goes with a lot of things. Fit: I would say this is slim fit. It was too short for my 6'4" 180 lb son in law. If you are 6'2 and under and wanting a slim fit this should work. Overall, this is a really nice dress shirt and wears well, the stretch makes it very comfortable.

Like I would expect from Van Heusen, this is a well-made shirt. The quality is good, and it looks nice. Be sure you're aware that it is a slim-fit shirt. I usually wear XL, and if I didn't have a bit of a gut (too much beer for too many years), the fit would be perfect.

I've been a long time Van Heusen customer, and have loved some of their shirts. But I've found this brand is pretty hit-or-miss. I either really like a shirt, or I find that it's an odd cut/design and don't like wearing it all. And I've found that the inconsistency isn't tied to pricing. Some of the best I've owned were inexpensive, while the pricier ones (like this one) are sometimes let downs. In this case, I went with an XL which for me is a pretty safe size (sometimes large, depending on the fit). This one was a little too wide in the torso, but a good fit in arm length and overall length. But after one wash and dry cycle, the length had shortened too much, while the torso was still too wide. The result is a shirt that's very boxy shaped, and just doesn't look flattering on my body. I don't think this is an issue of the wrong size. If I'd sized down, I'd have a bigger problem with the overall length and then the sleeves would also be too short. Also, I felt like the amount of stretch on this shirt was less than I've come to expect for modern button-down shirts...but I can't hold that against the manufacture. That was just my own expectation. I think some guys will find that this is just the right fit, especially if you have a short torso, long arms, wider build, and like to wear your shirts untucked. It just wasn't a good shirt on me.

This is a really nice shirt from Van Heusen. Out of the package the shirt felt a little stiff. The polyester content is just a tad higher than I'll normally take but I suspect after a wash or two it will feel much softer. The thickness of the cotton/polyester material is what you will find for most dress shirts. Its not too thin here but not thicker then some higher priced shirts. The color/pattern of this shirt is really unique. There is a small pattern of 5 colors that is replicated throughout the shirt. I am 5'9", 175lbs with a 42 inch chest and the medium fit perfectly. The slim fit of this shirt means there is a lot less material hanging around the waist which is something I look for in a shirt. The shirt hangs well across my chest and back. The pictures of the shirt on the webpage for it really don't do it justice. This is a much nicer looking and fitting shirt in my hands. I will definitely use this shirt in my work rotation and if I notice any issues with quality or durability, I will update this review.
