Trouble In Paradise
I never normally buy these trade paperbacks, but since this issue of Sonic Universe featured Tails, I thought about giving this a try and I wasn't disappointed. The story is set shortly after the marriage of Bunnie Rabbot to Antoine D'Coolette as they travel with Tails to Cocoa Island for some much needed R and R. However, unknown to them a group called the Battle Bird Armada has taken over the island for their own purposes and soon finds the trio to be a possible threat. A member of the armada Speedy Battlekukku the XVI soon becomes a rival towards Tails and considers him a freak for flying with his tails, where he believes the skies belong to the birds. Soon it's up to Tails, Antoine, Bunnie and Tails' new robotic creation; T-Pup to save the day and stop the Armada from accomplishing their plans. The artwork in this story is superb, especially on the front covers to each chapter (as there are 4 in all) and each page is filled with vibrant and expressive colours, something which really adds that extra something to telling a story. The characters are very well written, Bunnie is quite the sweet southern gal, but she'll kick butt when she needs to. Antoine of course provides the comic relief, but it's great that Archie have made him a little more fearless in these later comics, as well as being able to handle a sword. The story of course focuses on Tails and how his technological brilliance is able to save the day and this is defenately a coming of age tale for him, as Sonic isn't around and it proves that Tails can be just as good now at getting out of situations like Sonic does. The Battle Bird Armada characters were also well done, what with Speedy's growing ambition to beat Tails no matter what, his father Battlekukku XV; the leader of the armada who seems to be easily tricked by one of the Freedom Fighters early on in the story and then there's Dr. Fukurokov; your typical mad scientist (only this one is a bird) with a name which nobody can seem to pronounce properly, not even his own comrades. :DOverall this is a superb read and I thoroughly enjoyed the story, artwork, colours etc. All of which I found to be fantastic. This story was loosely based on the Sega Game Gear game; Tails' Adventure which was later re-released on the Sonic Gems Collection on the Nintendo Gamecube (and in some areas of the world; the Playstation 2).The book also features some concept artwork, early cover designs, character comparison between the game and the comic, and a few forth wall breaking 'Off Panel' mini-comics.There are lots of references towards the upcoming Sonic Select Volume 8 which will feature the original Tails mini-series and that is due out in September (of 2013), so I'm assuming it will come to the UK later in September or October and I may be tempted to pick that up too after reading this.A great book all together, which will surely please fans of Sonic's two tailed sidekick and some of your other favourite Freedom Fighters.

Bought for my Sonic mad daughter who thinks Tails doesn't get enough attention - highly recommended - trouble is now she wants the rest of the series!!!

Tails Adventure.
The weakest Sonic comic so far, in my opinion, but I am sure the Tails-fans out there will be happy with this one!

no longer riding on sonics coat-tails
i found the comic to be a great read along with the whole of the sonic universe collections. and a great eye opener to tails character and a chance for him to shine along with bunnie and Antoine when he invites them to the secret island where he keeps his workshop for their honeymoon. but the trip turns sour when the group is attacked by a dark group of warrior avians. after bunnie and Antoine are captured in the battle tails attempts to save them and is attacked by another of the militia and loses track of them. can tails find them and figure out who attacked them and why?i would suggest this to any fan of sonic or the previous comics
