Description
- In early summer, this fine allium bears umbels that are 25 - 30cm in diameter, and can contain up to 100 star-shaped fuchsia flowers with a delicate metallic sheen. Alliums, also known as ornamental onions, are grown for their showy and distinctive flower heads which add a unique style to any setting. Even when the plants die back, the dried flower heads look attractive in the garden, or can be cut for indoor displays. The flowers are also much beloved by bees and other pollinating insects.
