Best way to seal off gassing
My brand new custom cabinets arrived and I could hardly be in the same room with them. A few days later the laquer smell had dissipated but the interior of the cabinets still had a very strong smell. A strong odor was coming from the cut ends of the melamine shelves. I sealed it with Safe Seal and it helped a lot. Super easy to apply.

Still has a wood smell although it's not as strong
I applied 3 coats to the backside exposed mfg wood of some IKEA shelf inserts.Up close I can still smell the wood. I thought it would do better.I didn't realize until after I received the product and read the full instructions that it a final coat of something else should be applied since the Safecoat could be a little tacky.

two coats and the "outgassing" odor is reduced but not eliminated
I built some shelves out of plywood to hold printers next to where I work and they were giving off a strong "outgassing" smell that filled the room.I bought this stuff and gave them two coats. After waiting 24 hours I replaced the printers, and while doing so I got pretty up close to the shelves and immediately got light headed, then got a headache. The room still smells from the plywood, but not as strong as before.I had higher hopes that with two coats of this on them the smell or "outgassing" would be eliminated, which is disappointing that the odor is still there.

Great product, easy application
Great product, easy application, seals and also keeps the fibers together. I was covering chairs that had a molded press wood(fiber board) bottom, the wood was flacking off when I removed the old fabric. After covering with 2 layers and dried, the wood was all sealed and able to staple the new fabric on without the press wood partials coming off

Don't waste your money
I bought a china headboard by ashley and the back was uncoated particle board and it stunk of off gas I painted it three times and that did not help I saw this product and bought it and put on 5 coats as directed waited a week and it still stayed tacky also did not stop off gas and my eyes were still burning and had headaches every morning Finally glued down plastic sheet and stapled carpet on the back The only thing this product will do is lighten your wallet

didn't seal
It looks invisible for the most part, but didn't decrease the out-gassing smell. Thus, it didn't seal at all. I am going to throw the rest away.

Not what I needed, I guess.
Well, it didn't work for us, but I can't say that it's to blame or if I expected too much out of it. I only painted the cut edges of the shelving material. It seemed to only bead up on the finished surface. The pantry still smelled awful though, so we put new boards in.

Awesome sealer. Initially put an oil based varnish on the headboard I made. After 2 weeks of curing the odor was still so strong I couldn't sleep in my room and had to keep the door shut to contain the odor. I sanded the wood down again and applied this product. Odor was very mild and after a few hours, not even noticeable. I was able to sleep in my room again!
