FRACAS; Failure Reporting, Analysis, Corrective Action System, Revised Edition

This would be a great $15 or $20 book, but it is priced at $50 and is not even close to the quality it is asking. Anyone with even basic quality/regulatory experience (medical, automotic, aviation) will learn nothing from this book. It is an extremely brief overview of what a capa system should do. No forms you can use, they use one example though-out the book and review it over and over, and really do not go in to any detail. I seriously think the author only had that one time experience and decided to write a book on it.Here is the book in 8 words: "you should record failures and document with capa system." Now with those fine words of wisdom the book says you can set up a system yourself. Good luck.Save your money and just go read up on the military standard MIL-STD-2155. It is free, and even if basic is better than this book. The FDA also has free guidance on food and medical industry thatcan apply elsewhere.

I spent 28 years as a Navy civilian research and development engineer and 6 years as a Navy TechRep on Standard Missile. I was deeply involved with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (Port Hueneme) development of a FRACAS user's guide. To the best of my knowledge that document was never published in a form accessible to the general public. I had hoped that this book might offer a comparable level of detail to the document that I worked on. It doesn't. It might be more appropriately titled: "FRACAS for Dummies".Don't waste your money.

I highly recommend that you add this book to your library and that you give this book to your folks and that you incorporate FRACAS into your work management / continuous improvement process.Bill and Ricky explain what you'll get by making FRACAS a part of your work management process. They use simple, down-to-earth language, supported by clear and concise examples and table.A must read and a great read.SRM, Montreal

If you are working in the maintenance/reliability field then this book is for you! The concepts are very easy to understand - so much valuable information written simply and concisely. The focus is on identifying and eliminating failures to improve the productivity and profitability of your plant with a common sense, easy to follow approach to improving equipment operation. Thanks for a book I know I'll use over and over again!

Failure reporting, the analysis and the corrective action is not seen in most companies as focused, continuous improvement process.Most companies need to be committed to this journey before they begin it. Use this book to get management to understand your vision. It does work.Purchase the book and not the download.

The book provides a strong basic foundation in FRACAS, and also addresses many more advanced points. Its probably a bit simplistic for advanced readers, but its the type thing you can give to someone to give them a throrough grounding in FRACAS.

A severe weakness of e-books. The tables and graphics are not legible even if viewed on a large monitor. A complete waste of a book. Don't even think about it.

Good book but none of the figures, tables, pictures or graphs are high enough resolution to be legible in the e-book version. Waste of $10.
