I was using the Ziploc Steamer bags almost everyday to cook/steam my lunch at work. I was getting tired of the cost and the mess. I started thinking that there had to be a better way....I found it. This device is perfect to take to work and steam yourself a healthy lunch, plus save money by not having to eat out all the time. I now bring a bunch of frozen stuff to work and don't have to pack a lunch everyday. I have used it to cook shrimp, fish, chicken and vegies. All of them have turned out great. It took a few times to get the timing down but once I figured it out it was so easy. Here's what I do in case you were wondering: **Frozen chicken breast with frozen broccoli or frozen squash - prepare steamer as directed, place chicken breast upside down in steamer basket and cook for 7 minutes. Season chicken however you like, flip it, season it some more, add veggies and steam for another 7 minutes. That's all - in about 15 minutes you'll have a healthy, tasty lunch. And, no, it does not dry out the chicken. I don't like white meat because of that very reason but with this steamer it turns out very moist and good (just don't overcook it). **Frozen tilapia with frozen veggies - prepare steamer as directed, place fish upside down in steamer basket, add veggies and cook for 2 minutes. Season fish, flip it and season it some more and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes (depending on thickness). ***Frozen, uncooked ez-peel and devained shrimp - prepare steamer as directed, place desired amount of shrimp in steamer basket and cook for 7 minutes stirring once about half way through. If not completely cooked, steam for additional 1-2 minutes. mmmm, so good with a little cajun seasoning. Did I mention that it cleans up easily? Well, it does. I am going to buy another one or two for home and for a friend.

Works fantastic Great product , best product out there for microwave steamers and large enough for anything you want to make & everything you make in steamer only needs 1/2 cup of Water yay !

We haven't used this a ton yet so this is not really a good review for repeated use. But we've used a few times and it works nicely. Very sturdy. Thick plastic. I don't get the feeling this is going to warp anytime soon. This one got the best reviews on amazon from what I saw so that's why I picked this one. I would recommend. It's a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. Don't go cheap if you plan to do a lot of steaming.

I'm not sure why this is listed under "Tools and Home Improvement" rather than "Home and Kitchen" because it really does belong in the kitchen. I only discovered this steamer while reading reviews for different brand and the reviewer mentioned this one. Now that I have it, I use it quite often. First off, it's fairly large, so it's perfect for long items such as asparagus or a fish fillet. The steamer is made of soft plastic rather than the hard plastic the Progressive International or the Nordic Ware steamers are made of. That means it's less susceptible to cracking and breaking. It is not, however, so flexible that it bends in your hand and stuff dumps out. Unlike the Progressive International Steamer , this one is a designed as a multitasker. You can use it with or without the steamer insert and the lid will still fit. You can only use the Progressive International with the steamer tray if you also want to use the lid. With this one I can cook without the steamer tray and still used lid. Bottom line: This is a first rate dish that is so much more than just the steamer. I highly recommend it.

I appreciate how this steamer works with the chicken thighs I like to buy in bulk and freeze. I just put several into the slotted tray after adding water to the bottom dish. Since my microwave is fairly small, its defrost runs for a little over 5 minutes. I'm glad to say that the steamer just fits on the turntable and spins without touching the microwave's walls or door. After defrosting ends, I generally cook the chicken for another 4 1/2 minutes. The system works well, and the chicken is never dry. If I add seasoning before the defrosting and cooking, everything tastes great. Wonderful addition to my small collection of kitchen dishes! I'm a guy who doesn't keep things he doesn't use. This one's here for good.

This is the best steamer ever. I would recommend to anyone who steams veggies.

I had one of these when they first came out by another company to use at work. When I bought a second one to bring home my wife scolded me for buying toys! Never guess who made me purchase a second one for the house. They are great and you can cook anything in the. Fish, chicken, wonderful for Shrimp. I purchased because it is larger, I can cook 2 large chicken breast ion it at one time. Every home should have at least one. I prefer 2 so I can cook meat in one and vetitbles in the other.

Wanted to try a "cheaper" micro steamer than the Tupperware one we have always used. Lid does not fit tightly and I'm sure hot steam will burn fingers/hands when food is done. Going back to Tupperware. Also disappointed with AMAZON that they are charging me return shipping for a dis-functional product and that this is the first/only product I've EVER returned to AMAZON and we buy a ton of products from them. Pretty disapponiting AMAZON!!!! I've always had nothing but good things to say about AMAZON in the past. How 'bout some Love here????
