Goji berries don't taste good
I've been watching You Tube videos of people who have been raising their own Goji berries. Most of them tell you they taste good. I don't know about fresh berries, but dried berried are edible, but not pleasant to taste. One reviewer stated they taste like licorice. I do not understand that at all. I love licorice. Goji berried do not taste like licorice. I think gardeners stretch the truth about the flavor of their crops, like fishermen and the size of their fish. I just chewed up about 6 of the berries, and there is a slight hint of sweetness, and a slight bit of complexity to the flavor, however, the dominant flavor of the dried berries is lawn clippings. I ain't gonna eat 'em. I've soaked a few in water and started the seeds, which are growing right now. Also, I have a plant growing in the garden, which I boughtin the summer. The plant is growing just fine. I'll find out next year what fresh Goji tastes like. My expectations have been lowered by tasting the dried berries.
