Finally got what I needed: stability! The best I've found.
I've had a couple of other USB hub adapters for my Macbook, which just has one USB-C port. They worked somewhat well, although my biggest issue with them was how easy it was to lose connection somewhere in the chain, whether it be from the charging source or from the laptop itself. I did a bunch of sifting to try and find something that met all of my requirements: passthrough charging to charge your laptop while acting as a USB hub, at least 2+ normal USB connections, and most specifically, a design that would give me a stable connection with less fear of coming unplugged. This one seemed to tick all of the boxes, so I ordered it. Sure enough, it's perfect!! Absolutely nailed what I wanted. The design is head and shoulders better than most of the other adapters on here. Its square shape rests easily and flush on top of a surface. It's smaller than I expected (a good thing), but robust enough not to slide all over. The key is the connection cord though - it's got just enough slack and made from a quality woven material to be bendable enough not to tweak the connection with the laptop. The insert itself is really tight as well, which is absolutely crucial.I'm a musician and need a USB to record - a tight connection is paramount for an adapter. The other adapters I've had have disconnected mid-recording, and it completely ruins everything, especially my mood. Infuriating. They were under $25 and it totally showed. Reluctantly, I came to terms with the fact that I may have to shell out for a more expensive one and see how the quality improves. Honestly, it was totally worth it, and I'm super glad that I did. My flimsiness problems seem to be over. Brilliant stuff. It feels well-made, so hopefully it lasts awhile!(Also an added bonus was the HDMI port, which I can now use to connect a second monitor for recording display, which is a gamechanger. Couldn't be happier with this product.)

Bluetooth mouse usb issue (solved)
This product works great, only issue I had with it was when using a bluetooth mouse (with the usb receiver). It works but when dragging the mouse across the screen it’s just kinda laggy and all over the place which is very annoying. I’m guessing the reason this happens is the bluetooth signal has trouble going through the dock to my mouse. I solved this issue by using a usb extender that I already had, plugging it into the dock and plugging my usb receiver into the extender. This put the usb receiver about 3 feet away from the dock and that worked

Love my little hub!
I've been a pc user for decades, just switched to the Mac... and didn't know how I was going to live without all the plugin capabilities that my pc has... with this hub I am able to use my wireless mouse, my webcam, AND my light for video production! What I love the most is the versatility. I have the option to plug into ethernet - when I am at my desk, which allows me to be wired--instead of wireless (to decrease EMFs). It also has a HDMI cable port so that I can screenshare my Mac to my TV for movies, you tube, and Netflix! AND--it is GOLD, which is a perfect match to my MacBook Air. LOVE IT!

Does what I needed to do no complaints. (Edited)
Bought it for the Nintendo switch and does the job. There is one complaint after a few months of having this not major but a minor gripe. And that is the blue LED never turns off and there's no way of turning it off, which means it's constantly warm even when not in use. ( update )1 year and 3 months later.Still working like a champ going strong. But because what I previously stated here the blue LED never turns off and since this has been primarily used as a Nintendo switch dock that led is starting to die. Other than that this thing is still powering through every day usage.

10/10, works better than expected
I bought this in hopes that it would become my portable Nintendo Switch dock. I read some reviews that said it would work, so I took the leap and was impressed! It works with the Switch, and I'm going to test with my tablet later. It charges the Switch, outputs to the tv via HDMI, and has plenty of USB ports. Ethernet port is a nice touch too, for those with spotty wifi. For reference though, make sure to plug in the switch charger when you plug in HDMI, otherwise it will not output properly. The console needs enough juice to push the signal out properly.

high quality great price
I am still in process of evaluating these two hubs. One was for a new Apple Mac 27” desktop with Mojave and two USB-C ports and another for an older Mac with only three USB 2.0 ports so a USB>USB-C adapter was required. In both instances such items as USB thumb drive and Card reader were accepted and functioned well. The secondary additional screen monitor using HDMI functioned only intermittently through the hub and an external HDD My Passport connection induced a pop-up stating “insufficient power.”I am going to keep these two hubs for the lesser requirements but wish they had such a device with external power to allow such connections if necessary.

Good but doesn't support nintendo switch vibration
I'm using this for my Nintendo switch. if you try to connect the vibration USB to it, it won't work. I'm just returning because I didn't realize that it needs the Nintendo adapter power specs in order to output with HDMI.

Works well in general
The device works as described in general, however, it did had some issues with two of my USB drives, it kept on ejecting them for some reason. Also because it has two USB-C port so I mistakenly think that one of the USB-C port is for high-speed data but I was wrong, its speed is at USB 2.0 at best. Other than that everything works well.
