It is intended for users who refer to use their existing cloning tools and hardware with the SSD. If you do require cloning software, you may want to look into a Windows PC based application titled "Reflect" by Macrium, or Carbon Copy for Mac computers. i have a toshiba satellite with serial ata-150 interface. will SATA-3 interface drives work?

Hello Dave, SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) A400 series SSD by design is compatible with legacy SATA interface. SA400S37/120G will work fine in the older Toshiba Satellite, although not performing up to the advertised SSD speeds due to host system limitations, nonetheless A400 will outperform original hard disk drive to help enhance the system overall performance. A400 should physically fit the notebook internal drive bay using existing mounting hardware. PC will automatically detect the new SSD upon power up. Will this work with a mid-2009 macbook?

Linda, Apple has released multiple models MacBook mid-2009 computers that based on legacy Serial-ATA (SATA) data storage interface by today's standards. Kingston SATA-3 standard A400 SSD is backward compatible with older technology and works well in the older MacBook. Keep in mind that computer would not take full advantage of the A400 higher performance due to system hardware limitation.
