Round Tourte Style Mute for Violin and Small Viola

This mute provides a warm tone quality with enough volume reduction for me to practice my very loud violin comfortably. I recent bought a very bright violin that has gorgeous tone color, but my left ear was beginning to hurt! This mute is the answer to my difficulties

This is a great mute and is easy to get on and off the violin. I works very well for mellowing the sound of the violin and taking the sharp edge off of it. My primary mute, especially when it comes to blending with woodwind groups I often play with.

The mute was cheap, came fast when i needed it (concert) and works well. However i have a size 16 viola and this thing is hard to get on the string and hard to get over the bridge. Not bad for the product since its meant for violins and smaller violas.

I had bought a couple of these mutes from China. They were so stiff and difficult to put into position that I actually knocked my bridge over twice. In our orchestra two other people had that same problem. Buy this one. It's american made and the holes are larger and the rubber is softer making it very easy to put into position and to remove.

For practice at home— it won’t do anything for sound. I’m not sure what it would do in an orchestra but I haven’t tested it there yet. It’s simple enough to put on but also very tiny. You’ll be surprised if it’s the first mute you ever see. Keeping mine in the bag when it’s not in use so I don’t lose it

This is a great mute. My daughter has had several and this one is the most effective without altering the tone to something squeaky or tinny.

Exactly as described and great price. Easy to get on and off the bridge. I know some people prefer to have the tab that sticks up so you can easily pull it off the bridge, but this one has been easy to use and mutes my violin well. Happy with this purchase!
