I was a fan of Modern Talking from the beginning with 'You're my heart, you're my soul', 'Cheri Cheri lady' and 'You can win if you want', yes that makes me a middle aged man by now! I could never understand how you could go anywhere in Europe and hear their records, that is except in the UK. The clubs played their music but the record-buying public did not, except for their one huge hit 'Brother Louie'. But after 3 years and 5 albums Europe got bored with them and their formula, their sixth album 'In the garden of Venus' bombed and their split up. And I thought that was it.How I was surprised then to learn when I bought this album that they had got back together again in 1998 for 6 years and recaptured their success in Europe with many more hits, all with the same formula: 'TV makes the superstar', 'You are not alone', 'China in her eyes' and 'Win the race'. And I became a fan all over again, it's a pity they had split up (again) by the time I found them again. They have reportedly sold over 100 million worldwide making them one of the biggest bands in the world. With this double album you get all their hits singles from 1984-1987 and 1998-2003. You also get several remixes and re-recordings and a huge medley of their 1980's hits. Euro-pop at it's best and well worth the price.
