TechSmith Camtasia Studio 8: The Essentials Spiral-bound – January 1, 2013

Easy to use/follow to get started with this software. While it will not teach you everything you need to know it will certainly get you started.

I can't think of a time when I wasted $33 as much as I have with this book. The author should have his picture on page v have his head hung in shame.Essentials address the basics then work into the more difficult concepts. From the text, a user should be able to do the basics and use any student activities as support.This book is a proof of his student activity with no real training information.If I had not highlighted a couple statements in hopes of gaining some information, I would send it back to Amazon.My suggestion, just review the instruction videos that come with the S/W. Their free and not frustrating.

I purchased Camtasia Studio 8 to create video tutorials for a class I teach at a local university. I have to say that it can certainly perform that task. Rather than think about it as a piece of software, one should look at Camtasia Studio as a video production environment. Because Camtasia has its own way of completing various tasks, one really needs to integrate a specific workflow into your video productions. If you have ever tried to learn PhotoShop, you will understand what I mean.I recommend that you obtain some type of Camtasia Studio tutorial if you are new to Camtasia Studio. I used the course published by iConlogic. While it does teach you the basics about using Camtasia Studio, this particular course needs to be updated to reflect the current version of the software. For that reason, I give it only four stars otherwise, I would have given it five stars. The aspect I found must useful in this course was the beginning section on how to plan the process of video course production. I found this course definitely worth the cost.

The book was great for a basic understanding of Camtasia Studio 8. It got me going quickly. The Techsmith tutorials on Camtasia 8 were good, too.

I had bought the hard copy of the Camtasia 7 version of this book and it was great. The Kindle edition of Camtasia 8? Not so much. The layout is terrible -- the margins are all fakakta, tha figures are nowhere near the text they are meant to illuminate, the thing's just all over the place. Makes for a really un-enjoyable read.

Just checklists of elementary stuff. It says "Skills and Drills", and they're not kidding. Feels like somebody went through and on every page asked the question "how could we make it duller?". No wonder there's no "look inside the book".

The book is spiral bound and in great condition. It's easy to read and work on at the same time. The format and information is very helpful.

leider funktionieren die Daten nicht mit der deutschen Version von Camtasia. Damit ist das Buch für deutsche Nutzer unbrauchbar. Habe es wieder zurück gegeben.Nachdem ich die Bestellung des Buchs storniert habe, hat sich der Author bei mir gemeldet. Wir haben das Problem gemeinsam gelöst und der Download funktioniert nun gut. Über diesen guten Kundenservice war ich sehr überrascht und habe daher auf 4 Sterne erhöht.
