You can’t beat the price for the quality and size!
It’s all about the peel if you make homemade pizza! It’s the one item when bigger is not better. This is the perfect size peel to fit my small Amana conventional oven, leave me with a little wiggle space to maneuver around & land perfectly on the baking steel, PLUS... enough area space to make decent sized New York pizzas! Definitely measure your oven interior space first to make sure this will fit! This peel is exactly what I wanted: a long wooden solid handle (not a foldable/removable) that is comfortable to use, with a good size aluminum paddle for stretching & topping dough, as well as sturdy blade that is easy to slide under & lift without any trouble. Period. This peel has performed perfectly each and every time and not only for pizza! It’s comfortable to use and maneuver. I have had perfect slides with no issues of dough sticking to the paddle. To date, I have made 8 pizzas, 4 italian loaves, 16 baquettes, and 2 sandwich loaves using King Arthur bread & neapolitan ‘00’ flour & semolina flour on bench/peel. One trick to avoid sticking is to work fast and not allow your dough to rest too long on the paddle. The overall length of the peel is 26 inches which translates to it not fitting in any of my kitchen cabinets (unless the pantry counts). A quick solution and way to ‘wow’ your friends as a pizzaiolo, is to drill a hole in the handle so it can be “stored” on your wall. Overall, this is a simple, efficient, well constructed (American made), middle range pizza peel with the blade rivet solid in place making it extremely durable and a lifetime investment. It’s also easy to clean by hand washing. 5 Stars! Seriously, you can’t beat the price for the size and quality! *P.S. The peel comes covered in blue film that must be peeled off prior to use.

Sturdy, functional, purpose-built; simple perfection
This has to be one of the best deals on Amazon. Sure you can go to your BGE retailer and pay three times the price, but this thing is stout, well built, and made in the USA. I love that the handle is raw. I’m excited to soak it in boiled linseed oil, and polish it up with 0000 steel wool. It’s a small detail, but I love the manufacturers stamp at the base of the handle. This is a real tool for a serious backyard pizza king. Or pizza truck king, pizza restaurant king, or the reigning queen of all of the aforementioned venues. Careful! The blade of the peel came with pretty sharp edges, and plenty of short, razor sharp little wires from when it was cut. Any hard metal surface will clean it up quickly and almost effortlessly. I used an old pair of Singer scissor - the spine, not the blade. Then I cleaned it up by rubbing the edges vigorously on the corners of the cardboard box it came in. It smoothed up very nicely. It’s exciting to find a well-built American-made chefs tool at this price point. I’ll probably buy a few more to give as gifts.

Great peel, but a somewhat rough edges
The peel works very well - it's very sturdy, and it fits a medium pizza or a loaf of bread. I put cornmeal under the unbaked crust, and I didn't leave the unbaked crust on the peel more than a couple of minutes before sliding in to the oven. The crust didn't stick to the peel when I did it this way. The peel is thin enough to slide under the baked pizza very easily. I would buy this again. As others have said, the metal edge was a little rough when it arrived. We used some fine sandpaper to smooth it out. Now it is fine. The plastic wrap does stick under the handle attachment to the metal peel. I accidentally turned my oven on one day forgetting that the peel was being stored in there. After a couple of minutes, I remembered the peel in the oven. By then, the plastic wrap had burned off of the handle - so it ended up being a good thing. Needless to say, I no longer store the peel in the oven!

Fantastic peel and American Made!
I have never owned a pizza peel for all these years I’ve been making my own pizzas at home and it’s probably a shame that I didn’t. After looking on Amazon at all the ones that folded and seeing that those always broke right at the fold, I came across this one which doesn’t fold but seems sturdier and when I saw it was American made I knew it was the one for me. It’s a really good size and will handle any frozen or homemade pizza, along with breads and sandwiches and anything else you would need it for. It’s lightweight and very well made and a fantastic price. I started out simple with a frozen pizza, and it was the first time I ever baked it directly on the rack. That made all the difference with the crust and made a frozen pizza into magic. The peel slid easily under the pizza with no problem. Next I will try my own homemade crust that uses 00 pizza flour and see how that turns out. I always get a nice rustic crust when baking it on a stone, so it’ll be interesting to see how it bakes on the rack. My recipe yields a dough that isn’t a sticky dough, so I hope this won’t turn out to be a disaster. I also plan to make crusts and par-bake them for freezing, which will make it quick and convenient to whip up a homemade pizza.

This is the perfect pizza peel for us & does a great job. Our biggest issue is where to store it when not in use.
