Broyhill Kids Breckenridge Captain's Bed with Trundle Bed and Drawers, White

My reason for 3 stars rather than 5 (so far) is about the shipping and Amazon's apparent expectations for customers who receive damaged boxes and products. My comments about the bed are below.My experience with this shipment impacted my customer experience so badly I am writing a review for the first time! The first set of boxes arrived at the same time. Several boxes were punctured and ripped but "only" one part (an end piece to the trundle) was damaged. Amazon could/would only replace the whole bed, not the one part (!!). The replacement shipment came on 3 separate days, but within a week of the request to replace it. Two of the four boxes were so damaged (punctured, stained, ends of boxes opened) that I was shocked it arrived intact. That in and of itself is atrocious. More, they were so damaged that repackaging the whole thing for shipping (apparently the *customer's* responsibility no matter what the state of the box is when it arrives?!) seemed nearly impossible. Luckily I'd recorded which box # the damaged part was shipped in, so I was able to find and gently pull out the part I needed and carefully substitute the damaged piece in the box for return. The box was re-wrapped as best I can with packing tape, and the other boxes' taping repaired, but that was a project in an of itself!! Scheduling (twice!) friends to help get the boxes inside and then outside, and assemble the bed was hard to do. So all in all, this was a very poor experience in terms of the responsibility Amazon puts on customers that receive damaged boxes and damaged products.That rant over, the assembly is relatively simple but takes two people. A powered screw driver helps with the slats. All in all it took 1.5 hours. My normal twin mattresses (but on the thinner side) fit fine. The trundle slides in easily with the bed fully made. It's too bad the drawers aren't a little deeper, but they're a decent size. It is as expected so far and I think I'll enjoy it a lot. Just not sure I'll order from Broyhill, or furniture from Amazon, again.------Got it replaced and a refund, very timely and generous by the seller. Have had it for a few years now and it's been exactly what I wanted. It's in a guest bedroom so not a lot of wear and tear, but it's solid and looks nice with other solid wood furniture in the room. Need a short mattress for the trundle, as others have said for this model. Get some help with putting it together, and if you need to move it in a carpeted room!

Nice looking bed when all put together. Cheap slats and makes me wonder how long it will be before they break. The instructions aren't the best. The parts aren't labeled, but the instructions do tell how many of what should be in the boxes (how many of each of the different screws are included). The instructions don't have words and some of the pictures aren't very clear as to which way some of the items should go while assembling. The depth of the drawers only go to half of the bed and not all the way to the wall so there is a lot of wasted space (I wish the drawers were longer to reach all the way to the wall). I included a picture of an 8" mattress on the lower bed. It clears the top part of the bed (but that is without all of the bedding).

Not too terrible to assemble, the boxes did come damaged but luckily everything inside was good. I was missing the instructions but a quick internet search found those.Kids love it, little brother has moved into big sisters room to sleep on the slide out bottom.While it says 200# weight limit, it holds my wife, two kids and a dog with no problem (well, save for them all being on a small bed)

I bought this bed for my 3 year old son, it s a very high bed. The bed is pure white, not off white. It is maybe a little better quality than ikea. Assembly was easy but long. I just didnt expect that the bed underneath wasn t hidden, so the dust can come in easily. If i had to change i wiuld rather go for one that the bed underneath is totally hidden. I bought the mattress before the bed and now i have to change the mattress because is too thin and a 7 or 8 inches mattress fits.

This might be a nice bed if I could ever get all of the parts. Have received 4 shipments/boxes on 4 different days and still have no hardware. From reading reviews prior to purchase, I asked for assembly instructions before I ordered the bed. Good thing - no assembly instructions were included in any of the 4 boxes. Once I receive the hardware to assemble, which I'm told will take another week, I will come back with an overall review. So far, I'm not extremely happy.

This bed is wonderful. My husband had no trouble setting it up under an hour. The instructions were clear. It's perfect for a small room, no big headboard or bulky frame taking up extra space! It's safe for my 3 year old! He uses the trundle as his step stool! And I always pull the trundle a little way out, when he's in bed, for precaution, and to cushion any accidental falls! I really love it because of the size and extra bed! I've been quite comfortable sleeping on the bottom, while getting my son used to the bed! Plus no more blowing up air mattresses for sleep overs! Really awesome!

the bed looks great however the head and foot boards. It looks like the box was dropped on the corner damaging both corners. I needed to sand and paint a little bit. Otherwise it went together O.K. and looks nice.

We loved this bed put it together and have not even had a year and it is falling apart!!! Both the front wheels broke, the drawer knobs are constantly loose and falling off, the top bed constantly needs to be tightened, and the worse part is the board beneath the drawers seems to be separating. My four year old who is 35lb sleeps on the trundle there is no reason it should be falling apart!!! Broyhill is suppose to be a good brand but this bed is not good quality.
