This 1-inch plug is said to be for wooden salt mills/shakers but it fit fine into my ceramic pepper shaker. I am absurdly pleased with the results. Best value for the money, in terms of enjoyment, that I've had yet. (Note that I had been using a "do-it-yourself" plug that consisted of cotton and tape to keep the pepper in the shaker... the shaker had sentimental value and I didn't want to get rid of it. Such an easy solution!)

Plug is fine but was way too big for my salt shakers.

Perhaps the earlier problem with description was fixed. I ordered 2 of these for my antique ceramic salt and pepper shakers, because it was clear that there was one per package. I measured the old corks on the shakers, which were one inch across. These new stoppers fit my shakers perfectly.

The perfect size to replace the lost stopper in my Grandmother's 'Halle's Superior Quality Kitchenware' (Jewel Homemakers Institute) Salt & Pepper Shakers.Yes, it's expensive. However, considering I visited kitchen stores, etc., and they did not have anything remotely that would work. I finally saved time, money and aggravation by just ordering from Amazon.

Measured the opening of the piggy bank with a digital caliper before purchase, it measured 1.1 inches. This thing fits like a hotdog down a hallway, measures less than 1" on the OD of the sealing surface. Should work great for openings just smaller than 1". Had to order another set of plugs for the piggy bank. Rubber is soft and nice and not smelly, just does not fit the advertised application size.

I bought this stopper to replace one that had a hole in it. I am using it in my wooden salt shake. It fits perfectly and now my salt no longer leaks out on the counter. So glad I found this stopper on Amazon.
