Decided to try this after hearing the guy on Paul Jones show on BBC Radio 2. Both CD's are live recordings. CD 1 was recorded live in front of an audience in 2006 while CD 2 was recorded "live" in the studio. There are no guitar histrionics here just good old fashioned well thought out songs and arrangements. On CD1 he starts solo playing songs while playing acoustic guitar or banjo. He is gradually joined by bass and drums then harmonica and finally electric guitar. CD 2 is more of a solo effort with songs ranging from blues, country blues, Cajun, folk and although there are 18 tracks it never gets boring. Highly recommended if you want to hear music "as it used to be played".

Great artistry. The real deal. Technical virtuosity on acoustic and electric guitar. I love this kind of music and Michael Jerome Brown is as good as anyone out there, if not better.
