This depth gauge tool is the best I’ve tried.Once you get the hang of it, it’s the most accurate guide out there.I use my saws for a living and keeping your rakers at the correct height is crucial. The Oregon brand guide that I’ve used for years isn’t nearly as accurate as this handy little unit. This guide allows you to quickly make the rakers the exact height they need to be for the best efficiency.

Metal needs to be stronger. File takes off as more metal on guage than what comes off rakers being filed.

Once your chain has worn enough to have to file the rakers, you chain's cutters are likely to be all over the place. It is essential that you file the raker for the cutter that follows. Depth Gauges that span 2 cutters and then have the depression to file is not accurate. Yeah close, but this gauge is exact for the following cutter. Your saw will cut better, and be smoother with the rakers set up properly.

Works as it should

This tool is small, light and handy for filing down your rakers to "normal specs" I like to keep mine a bit higher but in the bush it is a really great guide for you to reference off of. It is hardened steel so it won't wear very easily if you use a flat file to take of a couple thousandths off.

Best depth gauge ever because it sits on one tooth at a time to sharpen the depth gauge onlike other depth gauges where they sit on tree teeth to sharpen the middle one witch make no sense because after u sharpen the teeth a couple times the teeth are never the same size or height witch makes the depth gauge for each tooth messed up and cuts messed up and chattery with this depth gauge it don't do that and the chain cuts way smoother because each doth gauge is set for each tooth...
