PentelEnerGel Style Gel Pen, (0.7mm) Medium Line, Black Barrel - BL2007AABX

I have worked in retail and had to go over checklists, initiating completed tasks, doing inventory and the paperwork that goes along with it, occasionally clocking in and out on paper when covering shifts outside of my normal scheduled hours, jotting notes for other coworkers, etc. I am no driving a school bus where maintenance logs and other forms habe to be filled out daily/weekly. I have had this pen for over a year now and have bought 2 more of them. They are all fantastic. It is easy to use with one hand (which I like since I usually have paperwork in the other) and it writes smooth and clearly. Because the pen needs to be rotated (instead of clicked or capped) it is one hand usable but will not get clicked open in a bag, pouch or pocket. The ink is gorgeous and consistent in all of the colors I have used (red, black, blue and green that i have ordered from the manufacturers website). I read some reviews about people having problems with the pen leaking, the one that I have occasionally is a little messy at the ballpoint tip but it has never made even the slightest mark on my clothing or on the pen itself. The pen is a good, solid feeling, metal construction. I am not gentle with it and it holds up great. Love it. I even dropped my first one in the bus yard on accident, and ran over it with a school bus on a rough rocky surface and aside from some denting, it did not break, the ink refill did not break, the threads did not get damaged, it functions perfectly. It is dented and scuffed/scratched but it works just as well as the day it arrived in the mail. Cannot recommend this enough. Super tough, very pleasing to the eye, doesn't leak. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

This pen is a game changer! I used to dread taking notes, but the EnerGel makes it an absolute joy. These write smoothly. They look fairly nice and can last for quite a while. I purchase refills and have used these pens over long stretches of time. The issue is that I have a tendency to lose them. They are expensive, but I continue to replace them because the writing experience is worth it to me.I have had a few issues were a pens spring fell out... Or turning the pen would not push the tip out. Instead, it would fall off the pen itself. I think this has happened about three or four times in the eight years since I first started using these pens.I highly recommend them. I will continue to buy them as long as they are sold..

This pen is elegant, smooth, and clean looking. It has a "twist to open" operation, that has a distinctive feature. If you do not twist it all the way open, it will reset the pen closed. A convienient feature to have, when you don't know that the point of the pen is sticking out. That will save your shirts or pants from ink bleedthrough. For a luxury pen, it's well worth the price!

Ordered Silver, received Teal Blue: In my continuing search for the perfect everyday pen for me, I decided to try this Pentel EnerGel Style. This is a much nicer and more comfortable pen body than the plastic EnerGel RTX, EnerGel-X, or metal EnerGel Alloy pens that you can buy in most big-box stores in the USA, which all feel too fat for me. But this twist-action pen's smooth metal body feels great in my hand, and the balance is perfect for long writing sessions. This pen body also accepts Uni-Ball Signo 207, 307, or Jetstream refills in addition to the EnerGel refills for which it's designed. I don't actually like this pen's looks very much; I think the pocket clip should be narrower, the chrome section at the top is too prominent, and the "swoops" on the back look silly. Amazon also shipped me a teal blue pen after I ordered a silver color one. But although this isn't my perfect pen based on looks, it feels almost perfect, so I will probably order another one in a different color. (Maybe the chrome trim and silly swoops will be less noticeable on a silver pen like I originally ordered.) Meanwhile, I'll keep this teal blue pen at my desk for comfortable writing, but continue taking one of my pens that I think looks better (a Waterman Hemisphere, Parker Sonnet, or Sheaffer Prelude) to business meetings.Updated 12/4/18 after receiving my second Pentel Style pen: I ordered another silver color pen from Amazon Warehouse Deals, and received...another teal blue! Apparently Amazon either has a batch of mislabeled Pentel Style boxes, or no one at the Amazon Warehouse can tell the difference between silver and teal blue. I am willing to keep one wrong color pen because I like the hand feel, but one of them is going back. Looking like I might have to order a silver Pentel Style pen from another source.Updated 12/15 after finally receiving a silver Pentel EnerGel Style pen from Amazon: As expected, the design elements that I don't like (wide clip, chrome cap top, and "swoops" on the back) appear much less noticeable on the silver color pen compared to the darker body colors. I'll still carry a more upscale pen like my new Sheaffer Prelude ballpoint (which actually has a very similar hand feel) when I want to impress people, but I will most probably rely on this silver Pentel EnerGel Style pen for everyday use. For now, my search for the perfect everyday pen for me is over.

I’ve used this pen for over a year and it still looks brand new! I do keep it in a leather pen case while not using it but it has held up very well! It writes very smoothly and starts right up every time. I’m very happy with it. I also bought the refills for it. I highly recommend this pen!
