Good Value Heat Gun for SMT rework
These are well built units that gets the job done. The only complaint I would have is that the temperature indicated on the dial vs. actual is way off & is not consistent from low to high temperature settings. At the low end, there is reasonable agreement but at the high end, the temperature can be off by > 50C. There is a calibration adjustment at the front of the unit but that can only accommodate small offsets. I would highly recommend that before anyone uses these units to check the temperature exiting the heater with a thermocouple against the knob reading indicated on the front panel. To fix you can either re-label the indicator panel, or pull the knob out & reposition it so that it points to the actual temperature that you plan to do most of your work at.

Great clone unit, would recommend to anyone
Package came with the hot air station, with a permanently attached power cord and a permanently attached hot air pencil. Also 3 sizes of round pencil tips and the holder for the pencil which can be mounted on either side of the unit. Gave the unit a quick test and it heats up quickly and puts out more than enough heat and airflow for solder rework. Overall I am pleased with the quality of the unit for the price and its level of functionality. One review I read here mentioned that their unit would shut off the air flow when the pencil was put on the holder, regardless of the angle I had the pencil on I wasnt able to get such a feature to work, not a big deal for me as I wasn't expecting such a feature. LED indicators are a little flickery when representing the unit is heating up. Can't comment on the long term reliability of it but initial impressions are great.

Good Value
I prefer the analog controls of the BK-858A since precision isn't needed. I opened the case before using... good build quality. I like the large 1.0cm nozzle, but it tends to loosen during use. An angled tip would also be preferred. The knobs would be better if the index marks where painted white, but easy enough for me to modify. Good value for money.

Not useful for PS4 HDMI repair, but still useful
I got this cheap rework station to try to fix the HDMI port on a PS4 after watching a youtube video of someone using a $1,200 hakko SMD rework station. After 10 minutes of trying to heat the solder I gave up.Since then, I've used it countless times for adjusting the angle of rows of pins soldered to PCBs, shrinking heat shrink tubing, and making 1/4" vinyl tubing workable so I don't callous my fingers connecting barbed tees and drippers on irrigation lines. The temperature control is extremely useful in that regard as too much temperature will irreparably melt the vinyl and induce a distinct shape/material change.

Perfect entry level hot air station
Does what you need it for. This gripe is completely my fault for not paying attention before buying but the lack of temperature display can be a hastle if like me you like a bit of reassurance of correct temperature, I use a digital temperature reader that I had for years but it's a hastle.Still a great unit for the price , if unlike me you are constantly repairing surface mount boards then you will spend a lot more for a professional grade hot air station regardless , for the rest of us on a broke budget this product is perfect.
