I read the reviews prior to ordering so I had some ideas. First thing was I replaced the included incandescent buld with an LED equivalent that I ordered along with it. So far no signs of the housing melting as others have reported and I don't expect it to as the LED bulb barely even gets warm. Mod numer 2 - the pigtail is too short for my taste as I don't like the look the look of the cable running up to the OEM trailer connector. So I also ordered male and female 4 flat connectors that came with the extra length of wire I needed. I routed the extended cable through the inside of the lamp instead of the side. With the extra female plug I tapped into the factory wiring behind the factory trailer connector. I wired it so the Ram logo stays lit whenever the lights are on which you wouldn't be able to do if it still had the incandescent bulb as the housing would surely melt.Mod 3 - I added clear caulking around all points where moisture could get in. The end result is that now it looks perfect as it should with no wiring visible. Then when I need to tow my trailer I can easily unplug the connector under the bumper and the unused female connector stays hidden underneath. Very happy with it and I expect it to last a long time.

Fits perfectly on my Ram 3500. Plastic and lightweight, so not sure about durability. I needed a 12" extension to plug it into my jack, which is easily attained at an auto parts store if you can't wait for Amazon to ship you one. Only lights up with brakes.

Looks and works as advertised. Had to purchase a 12” harness extension to reach plug on my 2016 Silverado. Nice addition especially for the price. I also purchased a lock pin so it doesn’t get stolen. It has been through the laser wash and no issues. I like it!

Had to get 2 copper wires and extend the wire to make it work, very bright and visible in daytime

Cord needs to be longer. Will not reach from receiver to receptacle on 2016 Dodge Ram. Have to slice longer wires.

It’s a very nice product to make your hitch more attractive and lights up when breaks adding a bit more safety caution. It’s plastic but seems durable. The cord is definitely short for almost all brand of trucks. Make sure to get an extension cable. No hitch cover lock, so recommend to get one too to avoid being stolen.

The hitch cover itself is nice enough BUT the wiring harness is not long enough. I have a 2020 RST Silverado and I stretched it to its limit without breaking it and it wouldn't reach the outlet.

Bought for my wife's truck, and it works great. I would have given it a higher rating, but the wires are very short, and can't be hidden behind the bumper because of the hitch placement. Will probably have to add som wire to lengthen them. Don't know why an extra couple of inches of wire couldn't be added during manufacturing. If it's too long you can tuck and hide, but too short is a pain in the butt!
