Great Tablet - Does all that I need it to
I was looking for a tablet with a 10" screen, at least 16 GB of storage, and 2 GB of memory. My last tablet was a 7" screen, and with the overall drop in prices of tablets since that purchase, I wanted a screen that was larger. 16 GB of storage is more than enough for me. I don't put videos on the device, so the storage only has to be adequate for app updates etc....... My last tablet was a Tesco Hudl (the original one, not the Mk 2.....) It served well, but the resources on it for modern demands started to become a little bit lacking. It still works, although slowly at times, and the battery in it is still good. Soooo, it was a toss up between the Huawei T5 10", or something from Samsung. Although some of the Samsung's were equal, if not better, price wise, I found that the Huawei had overall better specs and was better value for money. Was I impressed with it? Most definitely. This is a great tablet which gives excellent screen resolution and plays streaming videos faultlessly. The sound, although not brilliant, is still very good. I invested in a pair of Bluetooth headphones which improved things in the sound department. (More about that later). The unit came with Android Nougat, but swiftly updated to Oreo once I connected it to the Broadband. All the Apps are readily available, and it isn't over cluttered with Apps that you don't need. I use the tablet for general internet browsing, use as an e Reader, watching videos on YouTube etc.... It's not in use constantly, but it does get used a fair bit. For my purposes it's perfect. The battery in the device lasts quite some time in between charges. I may be a fairly light user, but currently I'm on my fifth day since I last charged the unit. Obviously this includes the times when the unit is off or in sleep mode, but it's still impressive. This brings me to a point that isn't so good: The time taken to charge the battery. The unit comes with a 1 Amp charger. I plugged it into my fast charger at home which can provide 2.2 Amps, but judging by the charging time the unit is taking 1 Amp maximum with no fast charge facility. It took 3 1/2 hours to fully charge from around 22%. Why no fast charge facility? I would have dropped the rating to 4 1/2 stars for this, but there wasn't that option......... Other points? The headphone socket is right on the corner of the device. With the unit in it's case I cannot get my headphone jack in the socket due to the plastic surround on the case's corner protector. Hence the Bluetooth headphones that I mentioned earlier. Whether this is a fault of Huawei, the case manufacturer or the headphone manufacturer (or a combination of all 3), I really don't know. Some reviewers have commented that it's disappointing that the tablet doesn't have the facility to run the apps from the SD card. Actually you can.......... Do a search on how to get the device to add "Developer Options" onto it's "System" in "Settings". From there you can ask apps to run from the SD card via an app which you'll need to download. This will free up a fair bit of storage space. I haven't tried the camera out on the device as I use a bespoke camera, or the one on my phone. It may, or may not, be adequate for your use, depending on how fussy you are. Let's face it, a 10" tablet isn't something you're likely to have in your pocket for snapshots anyway............. Overall this is a very good tablet with a great screen, easy to use and should give the user a few years of enjoyment. Most recommended.

Great tablet serious value for money
I’m rediculously impressed by this tablet, I had to buy something the replace a dead laptop asap so decided I’d try this route instead of something like a dell xps which I’ll probably buy next year, I hooked up a little Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and put a cheap folding case on and it gives pretty much the same functionality aside from being android not windows. It’s super fast opening emails and apps, sound and picture is good enough to watch a movie, build quality and feel of it is very nice. Only downside I’ve come across so far would be having to use a little key like the iPhone/ iPad sim tool to access the memory card, I’m not too fussed about hot switching so not an issue for me. I really wanted something with a stylus but from what I could see would need to spend 3-4 times as much so this was a no brainer.

Great tablet.
My first one had problems with the go back/return icon. Having to press it anything from 3-6 times just to leave a Web page or even in the setting trying to find a solution. Amazon was brilliant in response and replaced it a few days later. Had some doubts, since I've never used this brand before. But the replacement worked perfect. The size is a welcome improvement over my lenovo 7inch tablet. And the screen being 1080p just makes the experance all the more better. Images are crisp. YouTube looks great. Everything is smooth and quick to access or close. My only complaints is the 16gb internal storage. Certainly needs updating to 32gb. Even though you can add an sd card and expand the storage. 32gb is the sweet spot. I've added a 16gb card for now, I might go mightier in the future who knows. My only other small, tiny alement is the back icon... Again. It's a touch inconsistent on this model. Maybe it's just me. Maybe my demands might be a touch to high for a tablet in this price range. But I've never noticed it on cheaper £50-70 models before. But in retrospect. Its a great tablet for the price. Easy to use, great screen and just so nice to use. Give it a try you won't regret it...

An amazing tablet for the price
For the £140 I paid, this is hands down the best tablet on the market at this price point. The screen is crisp and it's very snappy to use. I have noticed a few negative reviews complaining about the inability to install apps to external storage such as an SD card. I have found if you install an SD card before installing any apps, and set the tablets default storage to the SD card - most of the apps I've installed will put a fair bit of their data on the card. As an example, I've installed two games with are at least 1.5gb each ( Baulders Gate & Icewind Dale ). But when looking at the storage, they only use about 40mb each of the internal storage and store the rest on the SD. OF course, when installing the apps, you have to give them permission to use your storage. In total, I've installed 14 gb of apps on my T5, and these apps collectively only use 4.5gb of my local storage. In a nutshell - don't be put off by the T5 lacking the ability to move apps to the SD card completely. It doesn't mean your apps will eat up all the internal storage. Large apps will still use an SD card if given permission. I have the 16gb version with 70+ apps/games installed - and still have 3.8gb internal memory available. Grab a high-quality SD card ( I got a SanDisk 64gb for £10 ) and you won't have to worry about it. All in all - a fantastic tablet. The fastest you can find for the price, hands down.
