Vertical Jump Trainer
I bought this product for my son to help improve his vertical jump for basketball this year. It was initially introduced to him by an ex-college basketball player that was having a mini-camp for high school basketball players. Since my son is only 5'7", he needed some help on getting more air in rebounding. It truly is amazing product. After only using for two weeks, I could see at least 1" - 2" difference in his vertical leap. It does significantly improve vertical, with some supervision, (you shouldn't use every day) the improvement was visibly noticeable. If I was a basketball coach, I would use this in my training for all my players. Highly recommended!

works OK but after 1 year it broke!
the idea behind hopz vertical jump trainer is nice. the problem is that after less than 1 year all rubber cables broke. and i've been using trainer for 2 months than after 8 months of not using them due to injury i wanted to start again. the biggest problem is that you can't buy replacement cables. you can buy sklz training cables and cut them into short cables. but than it's difficult to attach them to straps.

Increased my vertical
This SKLZ Hopz Vertical jump trainer is a nice equipment for you to work on your vertical. I personally believe that this works I used it for about a month and my vertical improved by an inch or two which was nice. Sadly, I was not able to keep up with my work out to incorporate this consistently. However, during the time I did use it I noticed gradual change. Finding a routine with this equipment is probably the most efficient way to improve your vertical. The equipment might be a little confusing at first but you will get the hang of it. If you don't see immediate improvement don't be mad or anything because stuff like improving your vert happens over time not over night. However, i think the Sklz hopz will help. I remember my brother who used it played volleyball and he increased his vert by 3 + inches which was insane. That is when i bought my own because I couldn't believe his results. There are several exercises you can do with these. It comes in two sets of resistance bands. These bands come in an easy and hard set which helps you keep track of how hard you are working out and switching between the two to do different kinds of work outs. I enjoy the product itself and it did work out for me. I would recommend this to a friend. I play basketball and it did help with with my vertical where I am able to out rebound over people who are taller than me.

Durable materials, great concept. Slightly over-sized.
SKLZ is quickly becoming one of the go-to manufacturers for high-performance training gear. I have purchased their lat resistors and have been satisfied with their quality, and this Hopz trainer tells the same story. As far as the workout it provides - others on here have already mentioned all that so I won't get into any more details except to say that it works, and it's absolutely great. If you run a fitness-related business as I do, nothing beats having these kinds of gem fitness items that you will NEVER find in a 'consumer' gym. It sets you apart from the crowd, gives a great workout to your clients, and leaves a very, very professional impression. My only gripe with this, as with several other SKLZ items, however, is that they seem to build these for gargantuan athletes. By that I mean NFL/NBA-sized. The tennis kids whom I train have mostly 28-32 waist sizes, and they all run out of velcro room to secure the belt because it seems that the belt is built more for 34+ waist sizes (ideally 36+). It's workable, but just a slight irritation to have so much strap dangling around when the kids are trying to perform high-speed, high-intensity drills.Apart from that, the Hopz trainer is a wonderful item, and regardless of its shortcomings is worth adding to your equipment stash.

Better Quality / Stronger Threading Needed
Cheap threading (under the shoe) ripped after only a couple weeks of use. The product has promise, but should be made for athletic use.

A great enabler
I am 23, have only played basketball for about 2-3 years now (since playing pickup games). From practicing shooting, dribbling, and passing... I have come a looooong way from when I started. However, my vertical is embarrassing. I am 5-11 ish, and still can't touch the rim. My shots are always being forced from my hands instead of getting help from a good bounce off of the ground. Then, I got this. Now, I am not a rep for this product, and there might even be better products on the market, but after 2 weeks of on and off usage of this, I already feel like my vertical has improved. I am able to jump higher than I was, and I use less effort. I don't know if it is because this product has me working on form, or if it is because this is straining muscles in areas that normal leg workouts don't. Either way, I am jumping higher, which is making me more aggressive and confident when playing. This product will kick your butt (follow the manual included). I workout nearly everyday, including legs 1-2 times a week, however this makes me sore in different parts of my leg, that are not worked doing leg -press, -squat, -extensions, or -calves.If you are considering this product, make the purchase. I am glad I did, and it has only been a little while since I started. I can imagine the results will only increase from here.

Works but needs a re-design on the resistance bands.
On the ends of the resistance bands the clips could have been designed a lot better, maybe a ring then the CLIPS to evenly distribute the load when jumping. I can see this in time the wear and tear will happen sooner than later, there is too much stress on one side. It's a good idea but the clips bands needs a re-think.
