Keep in mind this is goat leather not cow leather
I love the idea of the purse. The hardware is cheap and looks it. The magnetic clasp does not hold. The snap on the front pocket does not clasp. The purse has a faint stink of billy goat. The color is good and should get darker with mink oil and use. The leather is a nice thickness and it looks sturdy.

Classic western look, sturdy design
When we opened that package that included this handbag, our first thought was that this handbag looked like something a Pony Express rider might use, or perhaps Indiana Jones. The goat leather was stiff and the bag was heavy. Even so, the impression the bag leaves is one of sturdiness. We have leather tool belts that seem to be similarly constructed, so we believe it is likely this handbag will be durable. After first impressions, it was time to check out the interior. The inside of the bag is lined with canvas. While the color is hardly attractive, to us, again, the impression is one of utility. The interior includes a pocket that is nominally a key or phone pocket, two zippered pockets, and three compartments formed by dividers. The result is a bag with lots of places to put stuff, whatever that stuff may be. The only drawback being the weight of stuff added to the bag in addition to the bag itself.Amazon claims that this handbag is handcrafted by an "artisan." While the marketing here is clever, we wonder just what that means. It would be really cool if it meant some old wizened guy (or gal) trimming leather and making hand bags one by one. For the price, we doubt the handbag is made like that. Indeed, we rank this handbag way above average for value. Even so, this handbag's thick, stiff, heavy leather makes the handbag seem like something that will last a long time, yet another reason we rank the value as above average. Our rating of five stars is based much on the cool factor of a handbag that looks vintage and expensive while being affordable. Throw in the internal compartments, the thickness, and the apparent durability of the leather, and this handbag seems like a winner. Now, for those seeking something lightweight, soft, and supple, pass this handbag over in favor of something lightweight and petite.Enjoy!

Vintage; Lightweight; Adaptable
I would have killed for this in my younger days when I drooled over them at handmade leather stores, that no longer exist. It looks vintage.I can just barely fit my 14-inch laptop into this, sideways and it sticks out an inch or two at the top you can see I have a laptop in it, but the flap easily snaps shut. I can fit my traditional paper folders into this sideways. It’s stiff and lightweight leather but it is flexible when needed. The front buckle adjusts for how much stuff you have inside. The only zippered pockets are two inside and they are not very wide. You can put flat things in them like: cash, passport, and credit cards. There is a front pocket that expand a few inches with a single snap and it’s also covered with the larger buckled cover that I’ve use for more frequently needed stuff like cell phone, glasses, and comb. With both flaps covering it even though it’s not zippered I feel it’s fairly secure. The more I use it the more I like it. It’s lightweight and versatile. My kids tell me it looks like a history professors’ bag, aka Indiana Jones.

Nice looking leather bag
This is a well made hansom leather hand bag that also works as a camera bag or to carry a small laptop. The leather is on the stiff side so don't expect a flexible bag until you break it in. Brass buckles have antique finish that go well with the leather color. Inside are two zippered compartments front and rear with two open pockets with dividers. Under the main flap is a snap flap pocket. With plenty of storage areas this bag works well. After the leather gets some use it should soften making it easy to use daily.

Nice Looking Leather Purse
We really like this purse, it has a vintage and rustic look to it. The stitching is not precise which gives it kind of an antique look that is overall very classy. I am not overly thrilled with the clasp. The strap does not look very elegant and the snap is hard to snap and unsnap. It is okay but is probably the best place to improve the bag.The interior is nice and roomy and since my partner carries everything up to and including the kitchen sink. It holds a lot. It is smaller than it looks in the photo, perhaps that is a very small model, but it is pretty decently sized. Also like the internal compartments. All in all a nice bag which I would expect to wear pretty well. One note, it came wrapped in a plastic back which held in a strong and offputting smell of the stains used to color the leather. It will need some airing out before use.

Too heavy and stiff
This is the first goat leather purse (or goat anything) I've ever owned and I can't say that I love it. It's very stiff and inflexible and even though the interior of the purse isn't that big, it's heavy and cumbersome. The snap on the flap isn't magnetized like most other purses I've owned and it's fiddly to put together. The strap is also too wide; it doesn't feel good on my shoulder, even when I shortened it so that the purse doesn't sit so low on my hip. I ended up being able to tolerate this bag for only about a week before I switched back to an older, lighter satchel. Unless you're looking for something really rustic, I don't recommend this one.
