I started reading more dark romances recently and this is one of my favs till now!!This was my first book by the author and it has been on my tbr forever.I loved her writing – the plot with the mature scenes were *chef’s kiss*💋I was consumed by this book from the moment I started it ❤️‍🔥🥰Kal is an absolute delight. I am literally obsessed with this man. Some might say I need a therapist but who cares 😏Elena is definitely our little miss Persephone who brings the light but loves the darkness. She was totally consumed into the world of Kal – our misunderstood Hades, and she never wanted to get out of it.I loved how both the characters went through different transitions throughout the plot. It starts of well. Kal's character was Hades to begin with. But through the story as the plot unfolds he just becomes this sad, broken H and evokes more pity. The darkness that needed to surround him, the aloofness, the ability to take without remorse completely disappears and all that is left is the poor little boy who was hurt and let down by his own.

The story though started off interesting soon became only about sex scenes which kind of get redundant after a while. I mean it's only so much shoving you can take, if you know what I mean! Wish the story was developed a little better. But a good attempt nonetheless.

This book has positively ruined me for all other books. It makes you want to scream, both in frustration and in a delicious way. Dr Kal Anderson being dubbed Doctor Death is perfect because he definitely will be the death of me.Beware though, it is not for everyone. The trigger warnings have been included for a reason, and if you cannot keep your personal biases aside, maybe you shouldn't start your indulgence with this book.Regardless, it was so gripping, that I ignored a 3k word assignment with a same-day deadline, and stayed up the entire night reading this. I have already recommended it to most of my friends. The ones who have read it feel the same as me.

This retelling of Hades and Persephone was twisted and sweet as ever.I loved the emotional and physical connection between kal and Elena.Although, i would have liked kal to do more to express his love, as a reader i felt his intensity of his love but it would be epic good if he did some extreme maneuvers like hurt one stupid character a little more. ;)

Although many ppl say these kinds of dark romances are purely fiction, i know all this to be true. i have seen this happen, this was literally the best romance i have read in a while and i love u FOR THIS GIFT !!!!!!!!!!!!

I Dont know why … so many times I get damaged book

I’m honestly not sure how I feel about this one. It’s marketed as a Hades and Persephone retelling - though, as the author clarified, not a literal retelling.Kal Anderson, known as Doctor Death, is supposed to be a villain. No matter his demons, he can’t fight his desire for Elena Ricci. On the day of her wedding, he kills her fiancé and marries her, making it seem as though he was forced into it just like she was. While he may have his reasons and some might claim he kidnapped and brainwashed Elena, the undeniable truth is that she holds his heart, and he would do absolutely anything for her.Sounds intense, right? Except, from the very first page, it felt like I had been thrown into the middle of a story I was supposed to already know. Kal and Elena clearly had a deep, intimate history, but there was no setup - no buildup, no backstory - just the expectation that I accept it. I kept waiting for flashbacks, a dual timeline, something to make me feel their connection, but it never came. There was tension, angst, and chemistry, sure - but without that emotional groundwork, it all felt empty. Just smut, no real romance.Then there’s Kal. He was supposed to be ruthless, intimidating, and dangerous, but I never really felt that. Yes, his methods of torture were gruesome, but beyond that? He didn’t strike me as the terrifying villain he was made out to be. That said, his sensory disorder was fascinating to read about. I hadn’t come across it before, and it was both intriguing and painful to witness.Let’s talk about Elena. I’m still trying to figure out who she even is. What does she want? What drives her? What makes her her? I kept searching for character development, something to make me care - but there was nothing.If you’re here for the steam, for the smut, you might enjoy it. But if you’re looking for depth, for emotion, for something that lingers after the last page? This one might not be it.
