Cheaply made, save your money.
I got this razor about two weeks ago. I did like anyone suggests and honed the blade, pasted the strop and went to town. I got it "hanging hair popping" sharp but never got an exceptional shave.it was always just ok. I liked the 7/8 width and the way it looked. After having this razor a few weeks the blade loosened up and I found myself knicing my face and head because it would slip and not stay sharp. I really wanted to like this razor so i started to hand rub the wood scales with the strop paste to smooth them down. After a few hours of hand rubbing, i got it feeling smooth rather than like a fine sandpaper. I couldnt stand the looseness and the width anymore and I got sick of the razor hitting the scale when i was closing it,so I decided to take it apart and fix the abnoxiously wide grip. After getting it apart, I saw why they had 3 washers per side... the sanding was not square. And the center was about 15-20% thicker than where it was pinned. I inspected the blade and noticed it was torqued but decided to try and fix it. After about an hour and a half on the stone hand stoning it, the blade slipped off the stone. Figured out why it looked like it was tourqed, cracked all the way down the blade, but the edge went back to straight. Must not have norealized it during the manufacturing process. I touced the blade and I know why they called it "saw tooth". I also have a dovo and the difference is that of a high schooler making his first knife and a professional. Like I said, I wanted to love this razor, just wasn't ment to be. The strop I rate about a 6/10. It is about 2- 3/8 thick and works well, has pretty good 6-7 oz leather and blur jeans materal for the canvas. The strop paste I would rate a 8/10. That is good stuff. The razor I would say is a 3.5/10. Would not recommend this razor. It dulls quickly and is cheaply made.

Nice razor. Absolutely not shave ready though.
The honing on these razors must be inconsistent. Some other reviewers may have gotten a shave ready razor, but even after a significant amount of stropping, the one I got had that dull razor feel of just dragging across your face pulling at hairs. Going to need to get it honed or just return it.

It is decent
This is my first straight razor. So my technique could have been the cause of my early woes as much as the razor. It was pretty decent out of the box. I stropped it and was able to shave but the quality of the shave was not that great. I had some stubble left and it felt like it was pulling the hairs a bit. After a few shaves, I decided to try to hone it a bit. I happen to be an amateur knife maker and I have a set of Japanese water stones. A few passes on the fine stone made quite a bit of difference. I am quite satisfied with the shave I am now getting. It is a much closer shave and with no more pulling sensation. However, as a novice, I am not sure if it was my honing or just the evolution of my shaving technique that produced the improvement. I do intend to invest in a higher end razor at some point and will then be able to compare.

For the money... Wow. Impressed.
Very nice razor for the money. Could have been honed a little better but after 50 strop passes it shaved relatively well. Its not a dovo... But its not at dovo prices either. After reading some of the reviews i was worried but after o got it and shaved with it for a few days i figured i had to write a review on it. It is exactly what they said it was so that was a relief. Some of the reviews made it sound like i was going to get a box of crayons and a pat on the head. Lol for its price this is honestly the best razor ive ever seen. Of course if you want something that is a $200 razor... Buy a $200 razor lol but if you just want a nice straight razor shave... This is a great deal. I would recommend getting it professionally honed regardless but mine was good enough to not need it immediately. :) enjoy.UPDATE: had the blade professionally honed and wow... Major difference. Glad o got the stainless steel also as I'm forgetful about moisture sometimes. Shop that honed it ssid the blade did have a "smile" from a sub-par grind from the shop, it was no problem for him to fix though and took five minutes. Still very happy with it. :)

Pretty solid razor.
As a design, it's a good razor. However, the grind is too fine and you will need to get a whetstone to add some teeth to the edge, so it's not perfectly usable out of the packaging. That being said, anyone who uses a straight razor should be using a whetstone and strop, so if you don't already have one, you'll need one anyways. I just wasn't expecting to need anything other than my strop out of the box.I'm also not too certain about the case. I like a sleeve case, and the zipper case is great for travel, but it's kind of bulky and awkward for daily use. I've gotten a separate case for it so it can stay dry, but more easily accessible than in it's original case.

Makes shaving fun again!
This is my first straight razor, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I've been using it for about 5 months now, and I like it. It makes shaving much more enjoyable. Who doesn't like playing with really sharp knives? I don't know what that sharpening grease is that comes with the strop, but I don't think you really need it. My strop already has cuts in it from my improper form, but i don't really know how to fix that. The razor itself is now a little looser than I might prefer, by which I mean it opens out of the handle easier than it originally did. It's probably supposed to do that, I would just like it a little stiffer. You also have to make sure to strop properly before use, or it will feel like you're pulling your facial hair instead of shaving. And be careful, this is a straight razor and has no qualms cutting your face if you're not careful. This is not the razor you use when you're in a hurry to be somewhere.
