Decent Product
Decent Case. Instructions need to be clearer. Do not wire it like the video. The wires do not match up correctly. Look at the diagram. Wire it according to the diagram! It works! It didn't work until I re-read the instructions and saw other reviews. Now it works great!

Great for fixing my Dewalt batteries.
Fits ALL of the Dewalt 20VMax Batteries that i had. I realized that these kits can be used to repair all of my broken plastic batteries 2.0Ah to 5.0Ah. Just pop out the old battery pack and drop it in with fire resistant packing material. Be careful when lining up the plugs into the new slots or you may bend one of the copper spades. After screwing it together if the pack falls down inside just unscrew it and add more packing. Be sure to label the outside of the battery case how many Ah it is because some tools you absolutely need a 5.0Ah battery. Be careful putting together the 5.0 because in mine i had to dremel out some plastic inside to get the upper and lower half to screw completely together. I only use the new upper and lower case, the clip, the spring and screws. If you must use the battery indicator plastic button, just put a small piece of hard plastic, like broken off the old case, behind it so it can reach the button. So now i have a pile of usable Dewalt Batteries. Now i think i need some lanyards for my tools.

Fixed my battery case. Then broke again 5 months later
The media could not be loaded. Only used the shells and it works perfectly. Thank you! FYI: it felt like it wasn’t going to work. But it smooshed into place and is working well.Update: 5 months later. Broken and cracked in several places.Probably just order another. Because what’s my option?

Easy swap if your handy with a screwdriver.
Took all of 10 minutes. This kit is really intended to build your own battery for a dewalt using brand new batteries. However i just needed the plastic housing to fix my busted battery. Too many falls off the ladder and it finally couldn't take it any more.I didn't need any of the electronics or anything inside since all of mine was still good. I pried mine apart easily and places it inside the new housing bottom. Few tweaks and screwed it together.Only issue i had was the new battery indicator button wouldn't reach my existing electronic board so i had to super glue a piece of plastic i cut off the old battery housing between the button on the board and the button you press. (See pics). Also you need to use the spring that comes with the new one because the old one is too short. I had to take mine apart again and swap it cause i didn't notice the difference. It causes the battery release button not to go all the way up.Only Negative i see is the battery fits loser on my tools so it wiggles a bit. Not sure if this is going to be an issue in the long run but as for now it doesn't look like it's going to fall off my drill. Also only time will tell if the plastic is as durable as the original. Some cheap plastics break easier, especially from the top of a ladder to a concrete floor.

Used to replace the casing of another battery
It’s designed for a build your or battery situation more then a repair kit but it will work for either situation. The battery indicator may need some modifications or use the one that comes with the kit.The only problems i found with it is the release lever spring is weak and sometimes sticks in the release position. Also be very careful not to tighten the screws too tight. The plastic is pretty cheap and will crack from the pressure. Mine cracked about 12hrs after assembly i backed off the screws some and it still works but I don’t think it will last very long. But $15 was cheaper then replacing a good battery because the plastic was broken.

Worked great.
I was able to take all the internal parts from my current 5ah battery case that was broken and transfer them to the new case so there was no wiring that needed to be done. The new case seems pretty sturdy. It took about 5 minutes to do the project.

Wrong size case screws
Overall okay build quality. I'm using it for a 110v corded application and all went well with the board and case modifications that I made for my project, until I went to assemble it and found the case screws to be far too short to have any thread catch. The ones in the product listing photo even appear to be a 1/4"-3/8" longer than what I was sent. My case is wrapped up and held together with electrical tape currently until I can find some screws that fit. Very disappointed, I would be returning if I hadn't used the item already.

Used to rebuild broken 5ah pack
Dropped my dewalt battery and busted it open. Took about 5 minutes to swap the insides into this one.
