SWEDISH METAL LEGENDS KATATONIA RELEASE SPECIAL LIVE 10" VINYL FOR RECORD STORE DAY AND UK TOUR DATES. Katatonia released their most popular album to date, 'The Fall of Hearts', in 2016 to chart and media success; reaching #1 in the USA Heatseekers and #5 in the USA Hard Rock charts, #2 in Sweden's Hard Rock chart, #3 in Canada's Hard Rock chart, #4 in the UK's Rock and Metal chart, #6 in Finland, #11 in Germany and saw success in Australia with their first ever chart entry. Taking four live recordings from the band's startling performance in Bulgaria with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, this new 10" vinyl will be a welcome addition to any Katatonia collection. Due to be released before Katatonia's headline Fallen Hearts Of UK & Ireland tour on 7th May and following a five-week tour of North America. Three of the recordings on 'Proscenium' are only available on the CD tour edition of The Fall of Hearts, and the fourth, "Journey Through the Pressure", is taken from the band's classic album 'The Great Cold Distance', and only available on the 10th anniversary CD Earbook re-issue of 'The Great Cold Distance'. Katatonia have worked tirelessly these last five years touring the world, as well as expanding their fanbase through two albums on Kscope, Peaceville's sister label. 2013 saw the release of 'Dethroned and Uncrowned', which exploded the core of the songs on 'Dead End Kings' creating new moods and textures. Both releases illustrate the band's journey toward this, their current more progressive sound. 'The Fall of Hearts' is the first record to feature new drummer Daniel 'Mojjo' Moilanen and with the addition of their recently recruited guitarist Roger Öjersson (Tiamat), who sprinkled some blistering solos on the album, Katatonia continue to push their musical boundaries beyond the metal scene whilst drawing in new fans from across the musical spectrum putting them on par with peers such as Opeth and Anathema, cementing their place as one of the most revered and cherished bands in modern heavy music.
