Sauder Clifford Place Executive Desk, in Grand Walnut finish

This desk truly doesn’t disappoint. As many others have noted, it does come with a lot of pieces and takes some time to assemble. Altogether, it took me about six hours to put it together, but I did it in increments over two days—and all on my own (I'm a 49-year-old woman). The only part I needed help with was lifting and attaching the top, which my son kindly assisted with. Some people mentioned the drawers being sticky, but that’s likely only if the screws on the drawer rails aren’t installed flush. If they're sticking out even slightly, the drawers won’t glide smoothly. Overall, it’s a beautiful and well-made piece of furniture. I got it at a great price, and it looks fantastic in my space. Just keep in mind—it’s very heavy, so plan accordingly when moving or assembling.

I’m always nervous buying diy furniture like this because it seems like it never fails that something is missing, damaged or that holes are misaligned, but I have to say that this desk came in fairly good condition although the box was beat up. Assembly was time consuming but not difficult. The quality for a fiberboard desk is really nice honestly. Whether or not it will survive a move will be a real test, as it’s a fairly heavy. It is the perfect smaller size executive desk. I do wish the drawer slides were a little nicer quality, they slide smooth, however a soft close option would make this a next level desk. I also find the hinges for the keyboard drawer to be bothersome while typing as they aren’t full recessed. Again, this is me being kind of nitpicky, but considering I was looking for a desk that met a very specific criteria and this desk checked more boxes than not. I did have a foot piece that got stripped during assembly and I was able to use Sauders website to order a replacement part free of charge.

It’s a very nice desk for the price and ticked all the boxes for what I needed. As others have mentioned, the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Everything came packed extremely well and there was damage during transport. It weighs A LOT! you will definitely want two people to move it to the location you will be setting it up in. I was able to put it together myself in about 6 hours, but allow for some time to unbox it and organize all of the parts. A couple of things to note: 1. Be careful to put the wooden dowels in the correct holes and not the ones meant for the metal ones. 2. the instruction's says to not tighten the screws fully when attaching the cross beams to the table top…. I found this to be a mistake, as one the top was in place, i could no longer reach the in to tighten afterwards, the drawer was in the way and a normal screwdriver wouldn’t fit. 3. I didn't install the door front to the keyboard tray, and that is a good option, in my opinion. My only complaint is that with the keyboard tray in place, i find that there isnt much room for my legs and i have to lower my chair a bit. I wish the keyboard tray had been made slightly shallower or the desk raised by an inch or two. (just my opinion). I’m only 5’4, so this might be more of an issue for a larger person. (in which case I might suggest not installing the keyboard drawer). But also note that I often like to sit with my legs crossed or Indian style, so that may be only a problem for me. Im also glad I purchased on Amazon site, as a saved a few hundred dollars off the same desk (branded differently) on Wayfarer. And it came quicker than stated.

This desk was on sale when we purchased it. It is great value for the money. The material is good quality, the hardware is excellent quality. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the parts and pieces are clearly marked. There are a lot of pieces, and it will take some time to assemble, but it's not hard and you only need a phillips-head screwdriver to complete the assembly.

Love this desk! It’s beautiful and pretty sturdy. It took me maybe 3 hours to put together but I also get distracted pretty easily. Instructions were very clear. There’s lots of storage and it looks more expensive than it was. Overall very happy with my purchase!

Looks nice but the quality is cheap. Would not recommend purchasing. Very disappointed. Took forever to assemble.

Took me, a 49 year old partially handy woman, 2 days to assemble. Directions were very clear and easy to follow. Screws went in super hard and not always flush as should be. Drawers stick and don’t slide well. I thought for the price it would be nicer but at least it looks okay. Good enough for a home office I guess.
