Worth having one to do a good job in the garden.
For the price this is good value. It is sturdy and the right shape. Expect to grind the cutting edge to the sharpness needed and keep It sharp. If you intend to use it professionally for many years, don't be a cheapskate pay the money and get a propper one. This one is excellent for the dig gardener!

The turfing iron would be useful for, say
This is a traditional tool and is very heavy to use, at least for someone of my age. The idea is simple but the flat spade head, though pointed, is not sharp enough to deal with heavy clay soil. In the end I had to use a stainless steel spade, having first divided the turf area into small squares to make them easier to lift. The turfing iron would be useful for, say, lifting blocks on a driveway since the head is flat, but the weight is substantial and the effort to use it is greater than the gains of so doing.

Disappointing
Well made and might be useful if it had a sharp cutting edge.

Bit disappointing.
Ordered this tool to clear a grass area on my allotment. it does the job well, but a little disappointed that the "T" handle was held in place by a small wooden peg which did not do the job very well and the handle was very loose. will try and glue to repair as too much trouble to try and re-pack and return. Maybe I just got a faulty item though.Apart from that, delivery etc all very smooth.

Great tool for the garden , cant recommend it enough
I used to work on a golf course and used this tool for many a year , I was glad I bought it cause it's so much better than a spade , and I used it for a little turning project. Very happy and would recommend this lifting iron to any keen gardener.

Better than a spade.
Saves a lot of time on using a spade,I removed a 6m x 4m lawn.I sectioned the lawn into roughly 8" strips the length of the lawn (6m) and cut a strip at a time, but, still pretty hard work. Found it easier to be on knees.There seems to be a technique which I sort of got towards the end of the job.The tool had bevelled edges, but, wasn't that sharp. I wonder if it should be sharped before use?It took me around 2 hours steady work, I reckon if tool had had a sharper edge it would have been quicker and easier. This, however, is down to me rather than the supplier.
