This pillow is very comfortable on both height options. I recently had to become a back sleeper, due to neck and shoulder issues that were worsening over time. If you are a side sleeper, or occasionally roll on your side, this pillow accommodates this too - it has comfortable wings to keep your face supported during side sleeping.
