Nice book exclusively on the history of chains, specifically for jewelry use. In both English and Italian.

Thrilled to receive this on my birthday--it was on my wish list--and have devoured this beautiful book. Glorious photographs, as well as much background information on evolution of chains in various regions. Good explanation of the history of chains, how they were created over time when equipment and tools were scarce. We are antique dealers, selling 17th century English furniture, but also sell ancient, Stuart, Queen Anne and Georgian jewelry. It is quite helpful to have a reference for link styles, etc., when people have questions. As it is in both Italian and English, just take care to follow to the correct pages. It was high on my book “wish list,” and I recommend it highly.

I m a jewelry designer and I learned many things from this book that analyzes very well chains in their historical, technological and formal evolutions. I got many inspirations in terms of shapes, techniques and visuals since the books presents chains from the Ancient civilizations up to now not just in the history of jewelry but also from fashion and manufacturing. Contents are very rich, pages very beautiful, It s a must have book and I recommend it to everyone!!!

Lots of errors, bad pages, etc. It's too bad because it's interesting material, but not worth the money

Al di là delle perfette condizioni del prodotto e della consegna accurata nei tempi previsti, il libro della Professoressa Cappellieri, pur nel suo aspetto, che potrebbe sembrare divulgativo, è un testo interessante e approfondito che fornisce un excursus, seppur parziale, sulla storia del gioiello.

Si e' trattato di un regalo di compleanno per mia nipote che frequents la scuola orafa.Il libro e' stato da lei definito come "meraviglioso".

Compendio sull'evoluzione della catena: in modo chiaro e sintetico l'autrice svela le tappe fondamentali che hanno trasformato nei secoli il semplice filo di metallo in gioiello. Ricche immagini, ampia bibliografia.
