this is a naturally rendered romantic comedy about two mature college lecturers who meet each other on the campus and are mutually struck by the cupid .Hema Malini is the modestly shy and conservative female who is old- fashioned and does not find it appropriate to indulge in frivolous activities like romance or fashion and is regarded as a frigid and strict academic icon by her pupils ,though she is equally attracted to her male counterpart played in a jocular yet charmingly simple mode by DHARMANDRA ,the movie comprises a charming comedy of manners regarding their bizarre encounters with a touch of subtle humour .hema and dharam remind me of the charm of cary grant and irene dunne in their heyday .BASU CHATTERJEE is a maker who excels in making simple true to life dramas out of ordinary human encounters and here he does away with the glamour and artifice of bollywood to render a simple ,intimate yet humane rendering of a mature romantic comedy .the few songs are rendered in background rather than the irritating lipsync and are extremely melodious compositions by RAJESH ROSHAN .the supporting cast comprising both fellow teachers and students and the genuinely authentic atmosphere of a middle class college campus are both endearing and entertaining .this is one of the best movies pairing hema with dharam who are the foremost bollywood couple of all times in the mode of bogart and lauren bacall .the movie has a natural charm and rhythm and has not dated as it is simple and honest .basu chatterjee was a realist and a master at observing everyday life and the minute details of ordinary existence and this is a vivid example of that masterful art .CAST -HEMA MALINI ,DHARMENDRADIRECTOR -BASU CHATTERJEE
