Other reviewers complain about the small size. Yes, this bowl is really a personalize serving bowl. It holds 2.5 cups of cooked rice without overflowing if that gives you some perspective on capacity. It's large enough for mixing enough salad dressing or kebab sauce for an average sized family, but really it's meant for a single person to have a bowl of soup or a filling portion of rice. I like it because I can use it to steam a cup of uncooked rice or a single serving of something like egg custard in my Tatung rice steamer for nights when I'm dining alone and want something simple. It's a nicely made bowl, and it's not the bowl's fault that people don't understand that 0.2 gallons translates to approximately 3.2 cups of liquid. Yes, the bowl is small, but it's a nice stainless steel bowl.

I chose a steel bowl because kid number one continues to knock over his bowl 3+ times a week. I’m sick of glass or Correlleware bowls shattering. This bowl won’t break, but it has such a narrow base it will inevitably flip over and let the contents of the bowl spill. I am returning. Also it has an interior rim lip ridge that will be deceptively difficult to get clean. It’s poorly designed. Note the interior ridge in photo two.

I worked in food service for many years and I learned to appreciate stainless steel during that time. This size bowl is great for mixing up personal servings of salad, and pudding, and I've mixed my mug muffin ingredients in this as well. While a lot of times I am cooking for a family, I do sometimes have to cook for just myself, and this is a great size for throwing something together for just me. You just can't go wrong with stainless steel in my opinion!

Too small

This is a good stainless steele bowl. It is a smaller one so not for anything large but a good mixing bowl for mixing smaller amounts of food. Cleans up nicely.

I found these by entering search terms 8/18 stainless steel, machined edges no lapp seams, an the pictures misleadingly made it look like what I searched for. In reality, it is cheap, poor quality thin stainless metal of the lowest quality stainless steel, and the edge is a folded lapp seam on the inside of the bowls. These kinds of edges can hold bacteria inside the curled, rolled, lapp edges. I feel cheated by these crummy bowls. Not even wort the $8, at a time when every cent counts.
