Ok, inconsistent quality
This is a really nice LED strip. Make sure you buy the correct power supply because it actually doesn't come with a plug--they do remind you of that when you're purchasing it. This is actually my third one--they last somewhere over a year typically. I keep it on every night for about 6 hours giving my salt water fish light. I like this one because I keep it down near the bottom of the tank and use it as a fairly cheap spot light aimed at my corals. I bought another LED light and it wasn't as bright as this one and the corals didn't do so well. They like this light and do well. So, overall, a very nice, bright light that's much cheaper than some of the specialty lights out there.UPDATE: I bought a new one of these and the new one was terrible. It last just beyond the return period on Amazon. Two of the 4 lights fried a few weeks ago, but it still worked ok with only 2. A few days ago the other two lights fried. Now its dead and I have to toss it. So, I think these are inconsistent. The other one I bought last just at about a year. At the least, if you go with this brand you will need to replace them somewhat regularly. I don't think any of them will last much longer than a year and sometimes, as I found out, only a little over a month. I'm probably going to go with something more expensive and see if I can get a longer life out of it.

Powerful light, great color for moonlight effect.
I use two of these on my 75g tank for a couple hours of moonlight phase at night. I have them on the 2nd channel of a Current USA dual ramp timer with two 48-inch LED Freshwater Plus fixtures on the 1st channel. My only complaint is that, while just 1% power is a perfect, natural moonlight effect in the tank, there is no real 15 minute "ramp down to off" effect to the light with my timer. It pretty much goes from on to off. Not a big deal. Just something to consider if you're lighting something smaller than my tank, like a 10 or 20 gallon, where the on/off effect will be far more obvious. 100% is extremely bright for something this small. Very high quality piece.

Just not enough.
I like it, but my corals started to die off from NOT enough light. They don't like it so much. I even did a ramp up for two months using the inline dimmer and they just never really liked the light. Can't say what the PAR is on these, probably not that good. I did a lot of research on these and my corals are 8 inches below the surface of the water the light is about an inch above the surface of the water, just didn't produced thriving light. retro fitted this into a Biocube hood that the original ballast corroded out of. Bought an AI Prime HD and all the corals that died off are coming back!!!

Color rendition and output is excellent for its overall size but reliability issues
Color rendition and output is excellent for its overall size. I've used TrueLumen Pro's on reef tanks to supplement my main lights and those are incredibly reliable. Have them running for several years. Which leads me to these. In less than a week, one of the four lights began to heat more than the others. They are hot to begin with but these got dangerously hot when in apparent failure. Three of the four LED's failed. For my application, a single light is enough but a complete waste.I believe the LED's are running too close to their full output. A sure way to reduce their life expectancy. In this case, they are just going to fail. I ordered a suitable dimmer and hope by reducing current, the other lights will not burn out. As such, not a good value and possibly no better than the cheap strip lights. The Pro line has a similar size light but a bit deeper. Might want to consider those instead.

Good Light, Not Perfect
This is a nice, strong, lightweight light strip, ideal for small aquaria. I have a 25 gal bowfront, and it illuminates the tank very nicely. It is very thin and virtually disappears into the lid of my aquarium, with the cords hanging discreetly behind the tank. The strip does heat up after prolonged use, but not excessively. However, it does add some heat to my closed tank. The adhesive pads did not stick more than a week when mounted on glass inside my aquarium lid, I suspect due to heat and moisture. The good news is the light continued to work even after being immersed in the tank. I can not confirm that it is strong enough to support coral growth, but will give it a try soon with a small low cost coral---I am very skeptical.

Perfect Addition To JBJ 28g Nano Hood
I bought 2 of these blue strips and 1 of the white to add into the hood of my JBJ 28g Nano Cube. The stock lights were good, but only moonlight for blue and nothing at all for a ramp up type lighting. Enter the trulumen strips. They fit right between the existing rows of leds on the reflector, and we're the perfect width. 2 little notches in the plastic on the hood and the cables were routed easily and all seals remained in tact for the splash guard of the lid. I have to say, they are exactly what the tank needed and now I'm keeping sps, LPS, clams and rose bta with no lighting issues at all. I put these lights on a digital time to kick on about 45 min before the main hood, off for 2 hours mid day, and back on until night. The main hood shuts down about 45 min before these kick off leaving only the moonlights on. Very good little setup. Highly recommend these for anyone on a budget, in need of that little extra boost, or just in need of a great light setup that takes up no space. If I had room, the pro version would have been my choice, but these fit perfectly in a jbj 28g hood.

Longevity is not great
I've been a long time purchaser of these lights since they came out. I probably own about 8 sets. At least 4 of them have failed over time where one or more or all of the lights will go out. So when you think of LED's you would think they would last a long time but apparently not. When they work the lights work great for 10-20 gallon freshwater tanks and will grow common plants that need low to medium light. So buyer be warned your mileage may vary on longevity which is one of the main reasons I bought them in the first place.
