NOT REALLY SUITABLE FOR TRIGGER THUMB
I purchased this item for Trigger thumb as the listing claims that it's suitable for the condition, and it's received good reviews from others. It only arrived today ( a day earlier than expected), and I'm currently using it as I've been advised by GP to splint & urgently need SOMETHING - anything! If the need wasn't so urgent, I'd return it, though. The product appears to be well-made (this is only day 1, though, so don't hold me to any quality assurances). The problem is this: For trigger thumb, it's important to have a splint that prevents the top joint (tip of thumb) from bending, and this splint really isn't fit for the purpose. For a woman, I've got very small hands (a doctor once commented that I've got the hands of an 8 year-old). Even on my hand, in order to get the splint to do it's job, I've had to pull the wrist strap over the lower part of the back of my hand, and am constantly having to re-adjust in order to pull the thumb section & restraining velcro strap high enough to effectively splint that top joint. For anyone with larger hands than mine, It simply wouldn't be possible. This seems like a good enough product to protect the lower thumb joint, but in order for it to be fit for addressing trigger thumb, it would have to be re-designed, making the thumb splint longer, with a wider restraining strap (to accommodate the position of the top joint for the widest variety of people). If that were done, then even quite young children would be able to use it by positioning the wrist strap slightly further up their arm - but NOBODY should have to position it so that it's riding up over the back of their hand in order to splint the affected joint.

I would recommend this splint
Over the last two years I have tried several differentgloves/supports/splints but none have helped very much and have actually been more painfull. This splint however is proving to be the best. It is very easy to put on and remove and is very comfortable to wear.I personally prefer to take out the metal splint as it gives me a little bit of freedom to move.

Moderately useful for stenosing tenosynovitis aka trigger thumb
For a while I had been suffering from a clicking sensation in my thumb, but being a man (and possibly by default an idiot when it comes to personal health) I left it. Eventually, this developed into pain when bending my thumb at the joint, and eventual locking in a bent position when I wake up, and having to literally snap it back into an upright position.Scouring Dr. Google, I decided that it was stenosing tenosynovitis or "trigger thumb", so I went on the hunt for a splint. This was the one I eventually bought.Whilst it did the job (i.e., kept my thumb straight whilst I slept thanks to a metal doohickey which slides inside a pocket on the strap) it wasn't without some trial and error in order to find the best position for it to work for me. I had to strap it on so that the bit that wraps around the thumb was nearer the very tip of my digit. The strap isn't particularly comfortable, and didn't last a long time, though admittedly it was in daily use, and being unfastened and refastened constantly.Eventually I managed to get a steroid injection into my thumb, which worked for a little bit, but I was back to using the strap (I had bought another as I didn't want to chance a more expensive one being just the same as this one in terms of comfort, durability, and ease of use).In time I had an operation on my thumb which fixed the issue, but I have kept the strap around as a "just in case".

Really helps.
I suffer from osteoarthritis in my thumb joints and wearing this a night certainly helps me get a good night sleep.I don't think this is the best quality support on the market as the velcro straps weaken after a few weeks but as a trial device it's good value before moving on to a more expensive model.

GOOD FOR THE MONEY
Bought to replace a physiotherapist's recommended splint (which was much more expensive!) but ended up more or less shredding itself through pulling the Velcro tabs to open the thing. I opted for this one based on the number of positive reviews and can't say I regret doing so. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because, having experienced the use of other splints, this one was quite 'bulky'. More to do with the fastening method, predominantly with the thumb part, but it does give a good grip to the thumb to immobilise it sufficiently.

Thumb Splint
Arrived one day early which was great. It provides good support for my painful thumb joints and has helped with the pain. Only slight concern is that the edges of the velcro are rather inflexible so can dig into the flesh between thumb and index finger causing chafing. The wrist band cannot be too tight as that causes chafing too so the thumb splint may need to be adjusted from time to time if the band moves round the wrist.

Helps pain and discomfort!! Worth buying
I have hyper mobile thumbs, needing something to stop them bending back constantly as they ache. This product covers the joint just stops under the nail and stops it bending. Comfy and reduces pain instantly. I wear them at night- would buy again and recommend as I think I may have some arthritis starting (I’m 37!)
