Disturbingly perfect.
Only had them a short while but easily the best I've owned. Not had Berghaus before and I'm a fairly wide 11 with a bunion to boot (boom boom) and these fit perfectly even with a medium thick pair of winter socks. I gave them a dose of dubbin to start with as I've found my feet put a bit of extra stress on the middle bits at the front. I think they call them the withers, but that also might just be a part of a horse that I've heard and always wondered about. Since buying they've endured rain, sleet, floods, snow and severe ice (in just a week !!!) and are absolutely great. Had to negotiate a freezing puddle about 4 inches deep for 20-30 yards and I could hear my boots mocking the attempt at the puddle to wet my socks. Bone dry, so sturdy, extremely comfy (would wear them as slippers except I can't afford to get divorced) and a really thick strong sole. Great buy.

Brilliant boots
I've trusted Berghaus for over 40 years with their products and they didn't disappoint again. Took these boots out for their first hike without having to ' break them in' they are extremely comfortable, great support on the sole and heel and superb grip. I always keep my boots waxed and clean them and re wax especially after a wet muddy hike.. which is normal this time of the year in The Dark Peak District. Absolutely first class boots, very comfy on a 6 mile hike including rocket scrambled up and down.

One of the best boots
This is a second pair buy. First pair has been in use pretty much daily for 5 miles a day . Comfortable and more important still waterproof so pretty good. Leather has not cracked. A good buy. Laces do keep coming loose though

Comfy
2nd pair. Love them. Comfy. Effective. No issues to date with water leakage and grip is fine for woodland dog walks.

So far so very very good
I needed an excellent pair of boots for working the dog out in the fields, a daily use pair of tough rugged boots that can handle the different weather conditions and will keep my feet dry, these boots do that and they do it well, the fit is so comfortable, I picked my normal size and that was perfect, they are fully waterproof and keep my feet bone dry, I donāt care much for aesthetics but these boots are not ugly looking by any stretch, I use leather wax on these after each days work after an initial three coats when I got them, itās good practice to look after your boots, cleaning them down after use, applying a waterproof spray and applying a wax coat every now and again, Iāve no doubt these boots will last me and keep doing the job, can see the quality straight away, a reasonable price for a top quality boot Edit , these boots inners have started to fail, the lining is defective after just seven months

Buying a second pair!
As a keen outdoorsman and terrierman, I needed a boot that wouldnāt let me down no matter the weather condition or distance myself and my patterdale terrier covered. Iām absolutely blown away by the performance of the hillmaster 2, so much so that I decided to write a quite comprehensive review - something I hardly ever do. To start with, the boot has a fantastic construction. A strong and sturdy, yet comfortable feel to them. You can tell that the boots are designed to last and made from high quality materials. It took me one 11KM walk, mainly on dirt track, to break them in properly. I returned home with entirely blister free feet, although the boots hadnāt been worn before this walk (FYI - I did have on high quality boot socks). I have so far covered just shy of 150KM in the boots, spread over just under two weeks of fairly testing weather conditions (Snow and ice, to rain and lots of mud - see photos) and the boots are performing wonderfully. The boots have a fantastic level of grip, which I can trust time and time again to keep me upright - even when down a muddy water filled ditch at 7.30AM on a Monday⦠The boots are incredibly comfortable. I personally have no problem covering 10-15KM+ in a day, across all different types of terrain, with an extremely energetic dog at the end of the lead. The only caveat worth mentioning is one that you should probably already know if youāre considering these boots; They are leather constructed. How is this a caveat? Leather needs care which I presume most people know already, but itās worthy of a mention - I spend roughly an hour a week cleaning and protecting my boots with Nikwax products. This gives them performance like a ceramic coated car - mud, water and who knows what else just falls straight off. Iām very impressed with the performance of these boots and will be buying a second pair shortly. Even though the boots are currently not at the full price of Ā£170 - I would be HAPPY to pay that much for them.

A great hiking boot
A fantastic boot. High quality leather and comfortable to wear from the start. Just the right amount of support without being too stiff. I use these every day and they look as good as new. Well worth the money

I've had a pair of Brasher Hill master boots for many years. Since Berghaus took over the Brasher brand and incorporated the boots to their range, I expected the quality to be similar. However, I am disappointed. There has been to much synthetic material added that will wear out quickly. The original Brasher Boots were lined with a softer leather layer on the inside, and that has been replaced with a complete synthetic layer. This synthetic material wears through easily and quickly. On face value these boots looks great, but they will not last as long as your Brasher Boots if you're used to that quality.

Sterdy, warm, comfortable. Tested the shoe in -5 deg cel, and windy conditions . It was warm with a hiking socks.
