Go Away, Big Green Monster! Hardcover – Picture Book, January 1, 1992

This book is so fun to read. I teach a mommy and me class and have young kids and every year this book is a hit. The little ones are captivated and love watching the monster disappear.

I really enjoy reading this book to my students. It helps them learn their facial body parts while teaching them not to be afraid of a monster. Super cute and fun!

This book was and (5months later) still is!!! My preschoolers with special needs LOVED the illustrations and the word repetition! And there is a GREAT "Go Away Big Green Monster" song on YouTube to go along with this book. We made monster masks to look exactly like the Big Green Monster as a craft. This book was a hit!

Love this book. Got it in 1992 for my nephew and got it for his daughter in 2019. We still read it, and the girls, now 3 of them, giggle every time. Just purchased again for my niece's son, due this month.

Because of the monster stories on YouTube by Ed Amberley, my daughter asked for these books, she is autistic and it really influenced her to try to read the book and even ask for Me to buy it for her!!!So it is a super big plus for us!We own the big green monster and nighty night little green monster.And would love to get more.The book is really good quality, pictures are really cute and it is interactive so that makes us happy.And we read it every night it actually helps her get tired and get to bed!So thank you and Amberley for these books!

My granddaughter loves this book. She always chooses it at least once whenever I read to her. The nose on the Big Green Monster is easy to tear off, however, it is easy to tape back on

I'm a children's librarian. This is hands down, the favorite book of the preschool kiddies. We buy replacement copies of this book at least once a year, and we buy ten copies at a time. No other book is this popular. When we read this in storyhour, I tell the children to get out your fingers. Then they shake their fingers at the monster in the book, and scream "Go Away!" They love it. Even children who cannot really read yet, are able to pretend read this book. The book starts by describing each part of the monsters face, the scraggly purple hair, two little squiggly ears, etc. The book has cutouts that build together to form the face. Then the child/reader tells the purple hair to GO AWAY, and turns the page to see that the purple hair is now gone, etc. At the end, the child/reader tells the monster not to come back until I say so. Most kiddies want to read it again, right away.

Loved this book for years. It will never get old. Each kid loves it
