A Guide to Renovating the Bridgeport "2J" Variable Speed Milling Machine Paperback – February 14, 2013

That is thanks for taking the time an effort to publish this fine guide. If I may say so, it is the "bible" your going to want to have if you feel like getting into your bridgeport or even a knock-off. Very clear and informative pictures of the parts and assemblies, with a reasonable amount of hand holding for the less informed, very easy to skip over if one thinks that it is too basic. I give it 5 stars even though the full parts and assembly diagrams and part numbers (clarity wise) at the end of the guide are not up to the level of the rest of the manual. However I have found these same diagrams else ware on the web.

This book is a must-have if you need to rejuvenate or repair your Bridgeport, but have never taken one apart…or if you have dementia like me and can’t remember how you tore apart your mill 20 years ago. It is best to use this book as a reference in conjunction with the various YouTube videos that show you how to disassemble and reassemble the head, table and knee. The appendix lists various venders that can supply parts and rebuilt components. One of the venders listed supplies complete head rebuild kits and they also have a bunch of YouTube videos. Good book.

This book you need to have even if not going to rebult. There is going to come a time your going to whant to do some work on the machine. Good photes easy to understand step by step can't beat it. A time back I got a a book on rebuilding a vintage south bend lathe from this seller and I did it. Not having any ideall what I was getting in to, it toke some time but it's running fine now....

This is a great source of information for anything related to fixing and maintaining a Bridgeport. Very detailed and it holds you hand throughout the entire process.

Great detailed book- can’t get better than this!

This is a wonderful resource if you want to get a running mill in better shape. I suppose it would even be a good resource for a non runner, but it doesn't give instruction on realignment or other in depth instruction on rebuilding. The description tells you exactly what the book is about. "Renovation", not a rebuild.

I really like this manual. I thought at first that the print was a little too big until I discovered that I could read the words several feet away. The only problem was I couldn't see the pictures well enough at that distance. That is a problem with my eyes not this manual. One of the best things about this manual is that the pictures that the text refers to is always on the same page as the text. No flip-flopping back and forth as is usually the case with manuals. I highly recommend this manual.

This is a great book for anyone with this type of mill very good information and instructions!
