Broyhill Kids Marco Island Captain's Bed with Trundle Bed and Drawers, Dove Brown

I am so happy with this purchase. The wood has a really nice finish so it looks great. But more importantly, you can immediately tell that this bed is not made from cheap materials. The bed is very sturdy, and was much simpler to put together than I expected. It took about an hour from start to finish, and all you need is an allen wrench (included) and a phillips head screw driver (not included). The trundle drawer rolls out very easily and fits a standard twin size mattress (no box spring). The storage drawers under the trundle are just the right size to fit a standard twin size pillow, which is very convenient since you must remove pillows before pushing the trundle in. I have seen this bed listed on other sites for a higher price and it is easily worth the money, so I am glad I got a good deal on the bed here on Amazon. I would definitely recommend this bed.

So far so good. Instructions didn't give us any problems. There were a few dings here and there when we unpacked it, that's why 4 stars instead of 5 but since it is in my teenagers room I figure this will happen anyway. I will just get one of those little furniture sticks for scratches. It came in 4 boxes and all the pieces and parts were included....I am saying this because some reviewers were missing hardware or parts. Two of the boxes were extremely heavy so my daughter and I struggled with getting them in the house because my husband wasn't home yet. We put an old blanket down and did the slide routine. The trundle hasn't been used yet but the bed has and my daughter loves it. She picked it out and I read the reviews before ordering. We are pleased with the product. The cat likes the bed also, she only leaves it to eat and visit the litter box.

The dove brown is much darker than the online picture.We bought 2 beds and had trouble with one of them. The beds come in 4 boxes. One of the boxes was horribly damaged and taped over when it arrived. You could see splintered wood through the tape. It is shocking that they would even send the box out like that. I refused delivery of that box, then tried to get a replacement. Amazon finally made me send back all the other three boxes so they could send out 4 new ones because they are not set up to replace just one part. The Amazon manager that I finally spoke with was nice enough, but the frontline man useless and kept me on hold for 34 minutes. 34 minutes of hold music is cruel and unusual punishment.The beds are easy to put together. The first one took 3 man hours, and the second one just under half of that.The knobs on the drawers are trash. One disintegrated on the second day literally falling apart off the screw it was on.Although darker than the picture, the dove gray beds are very good looking. The shattered headboard in the first delivery and the disintegrating knob have us worried about the longevity of the materials.

After spending a staggering amount of time building Swedish big box furniture, I cannot begin to say how happy I am with this bed for the kiddo. This product is made of wood, quality hardware and has a great finish. Even though you do need to spend time putting it together, it was fast and I am not worried about it falling apart in a year.

My husband who is a very handy guy put it together with no problem. We just have one issue, the "fake" drawer panels keep falling off because the screws within the package are not holding them on

I had searched for a bed for my son for a long time before I found this bed. I couldn't believe that I could buy a Broyhill bed at such a great price! It fits his room perfect and is very sturdy. My husband put it together but he never complained about it, so it must not have been too difficult. The drawers are a great place to store toys and the pillow for the trundle. The trundle is easy to roll out, you just have to make sure it is lined up when you roll it back. Grandma has even slept "in the drawer" when she visited.

We are happy with the bed. My husband experienced only minor frustration putting it together.

We ordered this bed when we were ready to transition our son from his crib to a bed and he absolutely loves it!! The trundle is really nice for when he has a friend sleep over. It didn't take us long to put together and it was done fairly easily.
