I’ve had the bulb About 2-3 and it has barely grown at all. I have others from other sources that have taken about 3-4 weeks to bloom and blossoms last 2-3 weeks

I have not done that. I sent as gifts.

Q: how to care for amaryllis

You do not have to do anything. Just put on a table near sunlight and it should grow in about 4 to 5 weeks. Just watch and make sure you get some shoots coming up from the base. I had one from last year and my son cut the plastic down and put in water and it is growing again.
