The long haired one came with matted fur and I tried using scissors but that was terrifying. I looked for a bunch of matting combs looking for the one that worked the best. I liked that this one came with a comb to help detangle her fur before using the dematting comb. It made it so much easier than the others I've used. One tip is to use the wider side before using the side with more teeth. I thought this was only useful for mats but it actually works very well on just getting the loose undercoat out. Surprisingly it also works on my short haired cat who is shedding like crazy. This is really all you need for grooming.I was worried about my cat getting cut on the sharp blades because she likes to grab anything in grooming her with. The way the teeth are curved makes it very safe and keeps her paws away from the sharp edge.Overall I'm very pleased that this is such a versatile tool.

I have both a cat and a dog who both need a lot of hair car. Both are prone to matting hair. I ordered this hair brush because it promised to work well and could de-shed my pets easily. I have been so impressed by this brush. Both my cat and dog love to be brushed with it and it removes so much of the excess hair. I also feel that it does a great job of getting through to the undercoat instead of just brushing the top layer! Highly recommend this brush!!!

I like it well enough for four stars, as I have used this and others for comparison. On older animals, you need to be careful with this and other like tools, as the skin is very fragile compared to young animals and it can easily be punctured by the probes that are the ends of the rake. Works fairly well.

I am impressed with how well this tool works for long haired dogs with heavy undercoat.it also doesn't pull like other combs I've used. I easily filled a large brown paper grocery sack with just a few minutes of brushing to see how it would work. Our thick coated chow mix and great pyrenees maremanna cross (her undercoat matts)both seemed to enjoy my "trial" and neither one enjoys being brushed.this tool also appears to be well built,so I am hoping it lasts longer than a previous shedding tool I purchased that broke after a few times of use.

Very good product does what it is intended to do. I have a border collie and it has helped with the fur problem we had.

So far we are very pleased with this product, we have 3 cats and two of them have very long hair and every time we tried to use their cat brush they acted uncomfortable and even after using their brush their hair doesn't look good but after using new brush their hair looks shiny and feels smooth, we highly recommend this product.

I got the rake but I didn't receive the stainless steal comb I thought it would of bring both

Absolutely amazing! It works really well. It gets a lot more hair out than regular brushes and it’s not sharp. Other brushes make hair fly all over the place while your brushing but this one keeps the hair together in the brush. Great buy!!!!
