Ugh. Made in China. I am here because I am looking to replace the damaged intake hose on the one I bought in 2003 which was made in the USA. Mine has been out year round through blizzards and such, and had it's axle bent when someone backed a car into it, something I straightened with a hammer. The paint is faded a bit, but otherwise it is just fine. And for those who think we can't make things in the USA anymore because it is too expensive, my USA made one cost less than half what this one does and it is the exact same model.

Q: How hard is it to unwind and rewind the hose?

The reel turns freely. Remember, the length of hose you are trying to wind in determines how hard it will be to crank. Since the reel is fairly large in diameter, it cranks in fairly easily in my opinion. Unwinding it is a breeze. We use ours in a factory setting several times daily and it has held up under pretty tough, grimy conditions.

Q: Does this reel work with 100ft 3/4 hose?

Yes, however, that is the maximum capacity. Please note, hose capacities may vary depending on hose brand & style. All reels come equipped with a 5/8" inlet hose and a full-flow 3/4" gooseneck swivel. To convert the hose reel to a complete 3/4" flow reel, upgrade the inlet hose to a 3/4" inlet hose. If additional capacity is required, the reel can be modified and retrofitted with an Extra-Capacity Kit which is available on the Eley company website.
